Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I looked at the Hyundai Tuscon but it just looks huge from the front. Quashqai bit smaller on the inside. I am driving my corolla 13 years but doubt I will get that from the new Sportage. Just liked the look of it. Most new jeeps look more like crossovers which is a bit disappointing. Kia doing mild diesel hybrid, got 0% finance and ok trade in. Ticks my boxes and I'm going red colour so I'm happy!
Awe very good. Well well done and best of luck with it when you get it and red is a good colour on it. Actually the Dads current one is red his first one which was the model before the current model came out was white and they have both been super reliable no issues at all. Almost makes it boring do. No idea what colour his new one will be sure could have but would prefer to be surprised I am thinking do it might be gold as he wanted the last one in gold but hope I am wrong and its blue as Kia have a really nice blue and they look well in blue too.
Anyway best of look with your new one when you get it and if serviced and looked after proper like a Toyota they will just go and go. You should get at least 10 years out of it if you want to I would say.

    Peace and long life.

Don't wright them of just yet they are worth checking out and looking at. Certainly nicer looking than a VW Tiguan

Is that an EcoSport? I thought they stopped making that for the Puma.

Yes! I used always spot new reg cars on new years day. I'm guessing some garages opened for loyal customers or whatever, ford man in lapis being a prime example

You’d always spot the dealers that register stuff on the 1st when you see real low number cars around. Hinchys Kia/Opel in Limerick being a good example.

The top one is 133% more, not 230. Still a massive rip in comparison to 22% though.

Probably, but that's not in keeping with the spirit of this thread. I'm not in a position to buy a new car this year, but I'm happy for the ones that can. It's been a disaster year... Bring on the photos!!!

I also thought what a terrible name for a car but don't get the hate for the car itself. Yes sure Ford could and should sell it cheaper here but otherwise it's not that bad looking and if your worried about spotting your car in the car park no problem with the EcoSport ex it's so tall also I doubt he drives that fast so the hfight does not bother him or body roll but he obviously did not like the hi tech complicated Focus's anymore.

But you like stuff like the Opel Mokka, Suzuki Vitara and Ssangyong Korando though so...

Actually I preferred the Vitara when it was bigger thought ot was a strange decision by Suzuki to downsize it but never the less it is still a very well equipped good car just not great engines now as Suzuki seem to have gone a bit crap there.

The Mokka well the brother in law has one got a great deal on it and yes it's actually not bad at all. It has a nice classy dash with soft touch plastics and lots of chrome, It drives decent is comfortable and quiet too.
The Korando I think deserves a chance. I actually preferred the style of the dash in the one before this one before the revamp it had style but this one does look kinda classy but sure could be better in certain ways too but still it deserves a chance and so does the new MG cars.

Drove past Audi Limerick and BMW dealer beside it today. Both open for business.
Judging by number of cars driving into the retail park beside them, level 5 restrictions don’t make much odds to people anymore.

I had a call too, ok for next Saturday I was told.

Is collecting a new car deemed to be essential travel?

Its a 260 mile round trip for me.

Im not sure I'd be able to spoof my way out of it tbh. This will need some consideration.

I honestly can't imagine any guard having a problem with that journey, have your email/paperwork with you. You probably won't even be stopped, I wouldn't even worry about doing that trip, just my own opinion of course.

Garages are definitely only allowed to open for service/repairs/parts under Level 5.

The link is to a statement from Nissan Ireland.

Was gonna pull the trigger on the new Skoda vrs but the dealers wouldn’t have it in til lens of January. I’ll wait till next year to buy now. One whole month of not having a new plate would absolutely wreck my head. First world problems eh

Spoke to dealer again there now. They said they are operating on click and collect, contactless, with virtual handover by video.

Will send me an email to confirm I have a click and collect appointment. Said if I’m turned around by a Guard, we can reschedule to another time.

Sure when your new car is only on a new plate for 6 months your right too. An extra year for you to save up a bit more and maybe next year you will be one of the first with a brand new car on your drive.

With the exact same spec as the originals.

Not sure how people not educated in charging a car is an infrastructure problem. The answer to EV ownership is a home charger anyway.

Niece is buying a new Merc CLA. Thats exactly what she was told as you said above. Car pics online and detailed (its one year old), she had a virtual tour, same i think for her car as a trade and deal done.

Looking at getting my first brand new car.. haven’t been in contact with any dealer.

The wife has her eye on the Peugeot 5008 7 seater. Anyone any experience with these cars or recommend new 7 seaters.

She currently has a 08 Toyota 7 seater. Is trade in / scrappage still around?

Hi there, I know little to nothing about cars so wondered if someone could advise?

Just bought a new car yesterday, it's a 202 reg. Bought from a dealership. No previous owner.

Went online today to register it with my eflow account and the reg plate is coming up as previously registered - as a blue Ford Fiesta. It's a Hyundai.

    Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Might be a silly question but have you double checked that you have the reg number correct? If so then check what the reg shows up as on the motortax.ie website and also a few of the online insurance quote sites. If it's still showing as incorrect there then get onto the dealer on Monday. It's very possible that the dealer making up the reg plate simply got the number wrong rather than the car actually being registered incorrectly.

You cannot just let it slide and hope it fixes itself if the reg is incorrect.

Don't worry, letting it slide wasn't part of the plan!

Thanks for your suggestions, very helpful. I had already rechecked the reg, it's correct. I checked motortax.ie and it says the dealer bought it and registered it in Oct. It's registered as a Hyundai there. I also checked on the Parking Tag app, it's a Hyundai there too. Just not on eflow?? I'll check some of the online insurance sites tomorrow. Going to get on to the dealer on Monday regardless. Thanks again for your help.

I'd say the problem is at eflow's end so. Worth ringing them to see if they can update their system correctly.

Similar thing happened me a few years ago, turned out the previous owner had the car registered with eflow. I had to get them to unregister it online, then registered it in my own name. I'd say the garage u bought it in had it registered with eflow. Worth checking it with them.
