The entire African community? That was a handful of teens. I wouldn’t go judging an entire group by it.

Not at all but the community are getting a bad name over it

Because "our own" are so well behaved

Get a life. This is different. The brother wants the Gardai to be targeted and used a megaphone to fire up the brothers and sisters to foment chaos.

God almighty, time has come to stop this stuff that is largely overlooked because many are afraid to say anything due to the R word.

The fight back has to come, sadly. Imagine our Gardai being publicly targeted. Nope from me anyway. Would not be tolerated anywhere.

Only by a certain type who things 1 African = all Africans

Would it make you happy if we deport them all?

Nobody's backing down to anyone. Wait and see. The Gardaí deciding that it might be best to not inflame things by baton charging a gang of teenagers roaming around Blanchardstown is not equal to "backing down".

I'm sure both sides will be very disappointed that when this whole thing blows over but the vast majority of people won't be.

That's a debate that's needed for sure but any mention it's racist
If a black person attacks me and I said black in the description I'm a racist as a country we are afraid to have the debate
We could or should tighten out border control to anyone from any country coming in

There was an incident. GSOC are investigating as mandated in all such incidents. They'll make their recommendations, and we'll all move on. Some folks will twit and bookface about it. Most people won't. Some people will jump up and down. Most people won't. Self-serving politicians, and self-serving and spurious 'academics' will have plenty to say about it, until they're on to the next item. Feel free to ignore them.

Protesters & posters should leave well enough alone until the several separate investigations are complete. We have a process & we should hold judgement until the end of the process.

I will say that from what little facts I can find on this it appears that the Gardai acted accordingly but I haven't seen all of the facts

So no proof only anecdotes then?

Anecdotes are no sound basis for national policy.

Organised protests outside many Garda stations today, in contravention of the law and no arrests AFAIK.

Same happened during the BLM protests several months ago. Now you can argue as to whether that constitutes a common sense policing approach, but it's most certainly not a fair and even handed one, when we know different groups would have seen Garda intervention to force them to disperse and likely seek to prosecute the organisers.

    That's "you're racist".

What term? Hard to say...Inglourious Basterds perhaps? Leprechauns?

What are they doing in the Hyacinth House?

When ever I read a post that relates to the recent event in clonee, it reminds me of the movie demolition man when the police were so unprepared for the situation of having to deal with an actual criminal and have to unfreeze a real cop.

I am not saying anyone should be killed but in the situation it was just the last option available that didn't put other lives at risk. Can't say it would have been different in any other country.

What exactly are you saying about my hero Wesley Snipes?

What are they doing in the Hyacinth House?

I expect a lot from our own people.
I expect even more from those allowed to enter our country.

If they can't or won't respect our laws then they should have stayed in their own country.

Are we to believe the police in african countries don't shoot in similar situations?

Regardless of colour, brace or creed, if you go around weilding a knife at someone then take whatever's coming your way.

And the simpletons supporting him need to be told to cop on and grow up.
