Very interesting team selection. Think it’s probably the strongest pack available, Darragh Murray looks to physically have an edge over Niall. Excited to see that back row again, looks very well balanced. Potentially a little indisciplined though.

In the backs Smith and Forde are the obvious talking points. Really thought it’d be Bundee shifting to 13 but a great opportunity for Forde to push his Irish chances with a bit more versatility. Going up against Penaud will be a baptism of fire for Smith. He looks like he has a great work rate and attitude though.

Hopefully Mack’s positioning is solid and he gets on the ball as much as possible. Was expecting a 6-2 split here too.

I’m disappointed Jack is not selected. Almost certainly played more Sportsground minutes at 10 than any player, ever. Surely this evening’s wind is perfect for him

His form is not good at the moment along with Hawkshaw covering more positions.

a bit blustery. please let cathal Forde do the penalties and kicks for touch. It's important to remember that it doesn't undermine anybody. it's just the best choice for the team

It's interesting. Connacht invested so much time into Jack. It looks like he has reached his sell by date even though JJ has been nothing to write home about as of yet. And while I have been critical of Jack I do think he is being treated harshly

Someone in the Sportsground PA somehow thought it a good idea to play the European Challenge Cup theme rather than “Industrial Revolution Part II” as the teams ran out.

Connacht need to take points here and get a lead going

    Beautiful try

Bordeaux didn’t have to do a whole pile to score that try. Just a switch out on the wing and they were under the posts.

Wonder if the wind contributed to the decision to turn down points twice

What the hell happened? I left the room with us playing under a penalty advantage, the second one. Come back and Bordeaux have scored.

Penalty to touch, overthrow the lineout, then they shredded us when they had the ball.

JJ seemingly being afraid to claim the 60/40 there is not a good sign

    Hansen injured

  • Registered Users Posts: 17,339 ✭✭✭✭Utopia Parkway

Ugh Hansen off injured. Looks like he has his right ankle strapped.

  • Registered Users Posts: 38,176 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

Ugh, horrible to lose Hansen. I hope it's only something minor.

  • Registered Users Posts: 17,339 ✭✭✭✭Utopia Parkway

Seems like all the injuries this season are coming in the back three.

    Hanrahan is having a stinker.

  • Registered Users Posts: 38,176 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

Jesus, we are awful defensively in space.

  • Registered Users Posts: 17,339 ✭✭✭✭Utopia Parkway

Missing a lot of one on one tackles.

Hanrahan has been poor so far

Can’t risk going that close to the corner in that wind.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,079 ✭✭✭testtech05

Thought the last pass of the 2nd try for them needed a check but Dixon was adamant it was flat......

Poor to put that dead by JJ then. Hansen a huge loss too

Jesus this is more of the same. Awful in every sector we've gone totally off the rails since the Edinburgh game

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,861 ✭✭✭Redo91

Hanrahan showing the last few weeks why he was at the Dragons. Nowhere near good enough to be starting OH for a decent team.

  • Registered Users Posts: 17,339 ✭✭✭✭Utopia Parkway

Too many errors again. Missed tackles, getting held up, crooked throws, kicking the ball dead. Giving Bordeaux all the encouragement they need.

  • Registered Users Posts: 14,449 ✭✭✭✭cson

Obviously we're not helping ourselves with errors but the way these lads move the ball is next level.

    Some step up from URC.

  • Registered Users Posts: 14,449 ✭✭✭✭cson

Better kick from JJ but you can see in the first half here why he's ended up with a journeyman career.
