If Connacht manage to win this it'll be even more daylight robbery than Munster last night.

Why would he need to roll away from an onside position where he is not touching the ball?

    14.5

    Tacklers must:
    a. Immediately release the ball and the ball-carrier after both players go to
    ground.
    b. Immediately move away from the tackled player and from the ball or get
    up.

He was lying on top of the Treviso player... Or to put it simpler... He didn't roll away and was in the way...

Irish international Arnold kicked like a non-professional, when except that one Treviso kicked like a poor team using well their limited weapons

Ref hasnt a clue with the scrum, bealham wrecked their LH.

Not sure how he came to that decision

Last knock on that he penalized Connacht for too was no more a knock on, a handling error and the ball ended up five feet behind the player before it bounces.... he just enjoys blowing and extending his arm.

things are bad when Irish teams start conceding scrums to italian teams, we've been inferior to french and english teams for years

    No head contact there

Looks like contact is on the chest but his head snapped backwards with the impact.

    Yellow at least.

    Game over.

You think he would have learned this late in the season.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,521 ✭✭✭typhoony

is that going to be another red for the big man, said at the start of the season he was a liability

Problem is he starts low and drives upwards... Similar to bundees reds

    Clear as day.
    No mitigating.
    No dropping his height.

Red all day, and all season long.

Some very impressive play by Benetton

Absolutely nothing impressive. They didn't break the line once

  • Registered Users Posts: 17,341 ✭✭✭✭Utopia Parkway

I think that is to the upper chest to be honest but with the way the head goes forward then back on impact it looks like head contact.

Don’t agree, he hit the shoulder first.

One of the last angles seemed clear.

Third red card for a dangerous tackle. The ban will be significant.

That’s going to be an 8 to 12 game suspension now probably

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,521 ✭✭✭typhoony

it's just not going be a technique that can be coached into\out of him, it's only a matter of time before they realise the same

I thought it was upper chest at first aswell tbh. I guess with the rules now just need to make sure you go lower and not give the chance of a head contact or even close too it.

Shame papalii had done much better the last few games but 3 reds in 1 season is not good

He dropped his knees was low as he could,

    Rugby is becoming a mess

Still a mile better than Connacht.

Don’t agree, he hit the shoulder first.

Even if it was, and I don’t think it was, He doesn’t need to be that high making the hit. Every time he does tackle without lowering his body position he is rolling the dice.

If he lowered his weight any bit he could still smash 90% of his opponents.

Half of the season out, then, we should have let him go to France

He dropped his knees was low as he could,

    Rugby is becoming a mess

The lowest he could drop his knees is to the ground.

Were his knees on the ground?

    Rugby is becoming a mess

Dropping knees and driving upwards is the problem

He needs to learn to bend his back and tackle hips
