Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I know, I was just saying that because someone said earlier that he was tight with money.

remember him? used to be on every second windscreen in Ireland back in the day

Claims he had the crucifixion wounds of christ on his hands yet never allowed any medical professionals to examine them, always had them covered up.

I reckon he did have wounds on his hands but they were self inflicted,

    in short..a chancer

Yeah, it's more widely accepted now that he was a con artist though if you said that in holy catholic Ireland back in the day thered be trouble.

Gay Byrne was horrid tight with money

He went broke twice, saw him at the nct once, driving a car that was almost as bad as mine.

Charlie Chaplin - Was a paedophile and was well known for harrassing and abusing women on set. An piece of shi* by all accounts.

Che Guevara - A happily murderous individual who regularly executed prisoners himself for the fun of it. Notoriously homophobic. An ultimately a hypocrite, fought to overthrow corrupt dictators only to happily leave corrupt dictators in power because they were his pals, and sought to control the population rather then free it. A man that started out with good intentions turned into a genuinely evil man that committed despicable and disgusting acts.

George Best - An absolute gob****e who's arrogance, anger and ego nearly destroyed everyone that came near him. Neglected his child at times and treated the women in his life appallingly, sometimes violently. And a complete waste of a liver transplant in the end that could have saved someone else.

presumably a reference to Eoghan Murphy. His grandfather was Russell Murphy who robbed Gay Byrnes money.

    Barack Obama

Hated by almost half his countrymen, mostly for having too much of a tan. That's before we go near the middle east, even. Hardly "universally revered"

    David Attenborough

Flys all over the world and tells us we must act on climate change. Gets people interested in exotic animals that they cannot help instead of focusing in what they can actually for the plight of animals and the environment in their own countries. Despises the very humans who made him wealthy and enabled him to fly around the world doing amazing things.

Mary McAleese. They even named a bridge over the river Boyne right beside the battle site after her. But fawned over the Queen of England and invited Loyalists to the Aras. She is so awful she makes Mary Robinson look good.

    Michael D Higgins.

Claims to be a lefty whilst living in a palace in the phoenix park and gets chaffeur driven around with a Garda escort. Could give an Aras room to a homeless family to highlight the plight of homeless instead sh*tes on about whatever virtue signalling crap is in fashion. Bad example to all the young people of Ireland.

Agree with your last two sentences.

Gay Byrne, "The Nation's Proctologist" - I heard the kunt was buried with his communion money.

"The People's Princess" Diana - a bad mother who abandoned two children from two different fathers so she could continue whoring around.

Kurt Cobain - a scumbag who preferred smack to his wife and baby, left a small child to grow up without a father, his legacy to whom was to record a song called "I hate myself and want to die". Charming.

Freddie Mercury - worth tens of millions of pounds, yet at a time when HIV was a death sentence he didn't leave a penny to AIDS research or care charities, nor to the boyfriend who stayed by his side while terminally sick.

Roy Keane - barred out of every pub in Mayfield if not the whole of Cork. A nasty piece of work, would probably have ended up in Saint Pat's (the institution, not the football team) for something like joyriding or selling E's to schoolkids if Nottingham Forest hadn't intervened and taken him off the streets.

Lewis Hamilton. Hypocritical, virtue signaling, disingenuous, a@rsehole.

Beyoncé. Overrated, over privileged gangster’s moll codding on to be an independent feminist who rode her husband’s coattails to mega fame.

Bob Geldof. Preaching, pompous pain in the hole whose music is sh1te.

    Madonna. Vile, fake, nasty b1tch.

Oprah Winfrey. Not oppressed in the slightest. Quite the opposite, one of the most talentless but powerful people in show business.

Neither of these women are universally revered. There's literally a long-running thread hating on Thunberg in the Current Affairs IMHO forum which had so many posts in it that they had to open a new thread.

Hazel Chu is the most trolled politician in the country, outside of the cabinet members (and possibly including them). Have a read off of the comments on any of her tweets - they mostly aren't fans revering her.

It's the Dubai royal family, one of the world's biggest oil producers, the Al Maktoum's that she is friendly with, she did the Puff Piece for them concerning their daughter Princess Latifa that tried to flee the country, all this from a former UN commissioner for Human Rights, and Climate Change advocate.

The Prime Time documentary regarding the Mary Robinson Library in Ballina, shows her true colours, the total cost estimated at 8.5 million, Dept of Heritage and Mayo CC footing a big chunk of the bill, her brother getting 660000 k, for a run down house, and Mary getting 2 million in a tax credits for donating her papers to the library.
