Hi, I’m looking to buy a Hardtail MTB on the bike to work scheme. I have a Kona Hei Hei Scandium 26er that I bought secondhand a few years ago that I don’t really use anymore so I think I might sell it.
I used to do Ballyhoura and some of the Dublin/Wicklow trails the odd time but now I’m looking for a bike that I could use around town and for the odd gravel spin or for a day in the Slieve Blooms.
I was thinking of something along the lines of a Giant Fathom 29er. I’d be tempted to buy a set of slick tires so I can run it like a hybrid and swap it over for the odd spin off-road.
Is there any other bikes that are a better option? Budget €1000-1500
