Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

The Rose Bowl - it's one of the most iconic stadiums in the States.

Demolition derby there. Rose Bowl wins and advances

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 32,956 ✭✭✭✭Omackeral

Two parks up next, couldn't be more different.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,422 ✭✭✭✭Kolido

Missed the last 2 matches, silverdome was one of my noms but I probably would have voted the darts, enough stadiums here.

Rose Bowl also one of my noms, looks nicer and more history than the millennium. Glad to see it go through

Gotta go Fenway Park here, not seeing it with Fitzgerald Stadium tbh

Fenway Park, home of the Green Monster. And a hugely entertaining place to watch a ball game if you're out in the cheap seats with the regulars.

    Fenway Park

    Proper classic

Top tip, if you're in Boston and want to see Fenway, just go to the Bleacher Bar...

Fenway for me, just think it's more internationally known.
It could be argued that both fields cater for a native sport only, never got the baseball 'world' series when only US teams play in it (again open to correction, do the Philippines get an entry in the same way as London or NY get into the All Ireland??

    Fenway

Croke Park is the only GAA stadium worthy of this competition imo, and it should win from what I've seen so far

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 32,956 ✭✭✭✭Omackeral

    Fenway Park slaughters its competition.

    Who nominated that!?

    Ah jaysus.

Let's see where the loyalties lie now :D

Gotta go with Spurs Stadium, the way they can fold away the pitch is just phenomenal. Shame about the team it was built for though :P

    Tottenham Stadium,

Nicest new stadium imo, and the retractable pitch is unreal.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,035 ✭✭✭BrianBoru00

Gutted I didn't start before now..

    Anfield - hands down.
Experienced it first hand but it's near mythical status for atmosphere alone should see it through

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,684 ✭✭✭SineadSpears

Spurs because from the pics it looks a bit nicer ..

    Anfield

...but if I'm honest that might only be because I haven't been to the new spurs stadium, it does look awesome.

2 of the 4 stands at Anfield are pretty crap, but I can't vote against the location of most of my best sporting moments. The atmosphere isn't as reliable as we'd like to believe, but when it's good it's unbeatable

  • Registered Users, Subscribers, Registered Users 2 Posts: 47,338 ✭✭✭✭Zaph

Spurs Stadium, it has its own micro-brewery inside. Surely that on its own is enough for it to win?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,445 ✭✭✭tc20

Tough one here as I've no allegiance to either team.
Anfield has the history, the emotion.
Spurs has the high tech, is it the future of soccer stadia? Or will it be another soulless corporate day out?
Gotta go with my gut here and say Anfield.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,712 ✭✭✭Sawduck

Spurs Stadium its pretty class looking and I can't bring myself to vote for Anfield

Well, I couldnt look at myself in the mirror again if I didnt pick Anfield. Besides that, steeped in history, spurs stadium is too new.

Don't care less about either soccer team, so purely on looks,
    Spurs Stadium

Trencin has cool floodlights, but that's not enough here I think.

    Thomond.

I will vote local and go with Štadión na Sihot

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,684 ✭✭✭SineadSpears

I'll go for the Slovakian one for the castle on the hill

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,504 ✭✭✭✭Electric Nitwit

I googled Štadión na Sihot and don't get it... is it just the little castle overlooking it? Not enough

    Vote Thormond Park

    Thomand

  • Registered Users, Subscribers, Registered Users 2 Posts: 47,338 ✭✭✭✭Zaph

Neither are great and I'd assume the winner won't go much further, but Thomond looks like a neat, well-built little stadium. I'd be voting for the castle, not the stadium if I went for the other one.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,035 ✭✭✭BrianBoru00

Thomand Park - one of the great rugby arenas, certainly top 3 outside of the national stadia
