Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    The Crucible Theatre

The helipad is incredibly unique but it looks like about 4 people could watch the game there. I think the history of the Crucible is more than deserving to advance here. And also cos of these guys

    The Crucible.

The helipad looks spectacular but its a novelty item. Whereas the Crucible has history, drama, late nights where you could cut the tension with a knife. A proper sporting venue.

    The Crucible Theatre

Spent my childhood watching snooker, don't get to see it anymore cos I don't have sport channels. Watched many matches from the crucible, I would love to go there.

The other one isn't even a real venue

  • Registered Users Posts: 520 ✭✭✭hurlingman97

Helipad looks unreal, and is frightening,

But the crucible is the home of snooker, has to advance here

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,422 ✭✭✭✭Kolido

The crucible. Loved snooker when I was younger, both playing and watching. The other is a fun idea but not a sporting venue

Same thinking as Necro. If there’s no fans can it really be classed as a venue - as cool as it is? I’ll go with The Crucible.

Has to be the cruicible for me, even though the other one is a very cool gimmick

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,504 ✭✭✭✭Electric Nitwit

The Crucible is a sports venue, for starters. It's also one of the most iconic sports venues in the world and the pinnacle of its sport

The other was a photo op

    Crucible please

The Crucible, not a snooker fan but even I've heard of it

    The Crucible for me.

I was outside it once years ago, and for such a well known venue it was the most underwhelming place I think I've ever seen!

But for all the years of memories, particularly that night of D Taylor's win at about 1.30am on a school night, it gets my vote.

    The Crucible.
Watched a lot, played a bit, of snooker in the heyday of Higgins, Davis, Jimmy White all those guys. As others have said here, memories of late night matches, renowned sporting venue, known to non-fans.
The other one is a gimmick

    This.

Also, you're not in danger of falling off the Crucible. You couldn't play a proper match on that helipad.

Deserved the nomination for sure, but its time has come...

Thomond Park as the home of Munster Rugby and something nice in Limerick and it's in Ireland

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,402 ✭✭✭✭Collie D

The Pyramid - it’s pretty impressive. Not bothered enough to give more of a reason than that though considering I didn’t even know it existed until a day or two ago.

I don't even know what the inside of the pyramid looks like, is it even a full time sporting venue?
    I like rugby

Thormond Park, its a cool stadium and the Pyramid (sadly) isn't really a sports venue

We've just voted a fishing shop through over an Irish provincial Rugby stadium

    Spurs Stadium

I hate to admit it but I think it's my favourite stadium tbh. Probably being swayed by that moveable pitch

    Piscina Municipal de Montjuïc...

...for the amazing diving photos at the 92 Olympics

Spurs stadium, state of the art, retractable pitch, sleek looking.

Spurs Stadium. I'm hoping that some day Leeds will have a stadium as cool as that.

    That swimming pool!

    The views!!

And EN has prompted me to go looking for more of those photos - every day's a school day on boards.ie!

The pool for the views. Spurs’ ground looks great, modern venue to watch a game but is pretty ugly on the outside.

    Piscina Montjuïc
Location, views, and its an Olympic venue that's available to use by the public. Win

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 7,265 Mod ✭✭✭✭cdeb

That view from the pool wins

The Spurs stadium is just a run-of-the-mill 50k ground; nothing special

    Cos it's great and iconic

So is Camp Nou but fcuk Barcelona

Was in camp nou and it's a great experience, but I would love to experience the rose bowl, love the wide openness of it.

So, the Rose Bowl for me.

I'll stick with my nomination here, the Rose Bowl. Hosting two Olympics and a World Cup final elevates it to a whole new level compared to other venues
