    Fairly comprehensive here.

Circuit De Monaco advances to the semi finals

One last spot up for grabs in the semi final. It's East vs West, who do you think is best?

    Beijing Bird's Nest

Home of China National Football Team, 2008 Summer Olympics, 2022 Winter Olympics

    VS

    The Crucible Theatre

As impressive as the Bird's Nest is, i have to go with the Crucible here - for the memories, the late nights, the big personalities back in the day (Bill Werbenuik and his feed of pints, Alex sucking the very life out of the fags, Cliff grinding out that first 147, drooling over Tony Knowles and Kirk Stevens at school the next day, oh the shame of it!!).

    And THAT final.

    This is a tough one,
Crucible is the home of its sport.

But the birds nest is one of my favourite Stadiums, it's class, there's no other stadium like it, has a massive capacity but it's not just an ugly bowl.
Definitely the best Olympic stadium of the past 20 years, gets my vote here.

I was gonna abstain because I really like both and whilst the Crucible has the history, the Bird's Nest is bloody impressive to look at whilst the Crucible is not.

But then I keep thinking about the Taylor final in particular, how people still talk about it to this day - if that isn't an Ultimate Sporting Venue I'm not sure what is really.

    So... The Crucible.

Crucible is one of my favourite venues so has my vote but no doubt the bleeding nest will win

Crucible - the Bird's Nest never looks like that in real life. It looks like smog. The Crucible does look like that, and has great memories over 40 years compared to just one Olympics. And it's far more atmosphere (I would say!)

Birds Nest wins the "Looks" award hands down.

    Dennis-Taylor-1985.jpg?w=540&ssl=1
This was a pretty special moment....

    But so was this. . . st_20170805_sptbolt_3327235.jpg

Multi sport, Facilities, Viewing comfort and aesthetics all heavily in favour of Birds nest so I vote for the Chinese - a great bunch of lads

    The Crucible

It is tough, but I think the Bird's Nest isn't used widely now counts against it. One off events aren't enough to counter a lifetime of memories

I’ll go with this. Awesome looking stadium and scene of Bolt pretty much laughing at both the opposition and the clock. Bird’s Nest for me.

    Tough call.
Crucible holds memories of watching the greats and not so greats (Neal Foulds anyone?) of the day, often up way past bedtime on a school night.
I've always like the design of the Birds Nest, it is an ultimate sporting venue.
    But so is the Crucible.
    Crucible gets my vote

Kirk Stevens and his cocaine-white suit.

    Bill Werbeniuk's farts.

The kick on Jimmy's last black to win it.

I'm a bit surprised there's so many snooker fans on here actually.

    Well they've done their job.

Amazingly, the Final Four has not got one soccer stadium in it. That shocks me. Cricket, GAA, F1 Motorsport and Snooker... I wouldn't have predicted it. Would you?!

Semi Finals will kick off at about 7 or 7:30 to give everyone a chance to get in on the action. We're gonna finish this tournament tonight. I'm gonna PM everyone who's voted so far as to get maximum involvement. I'm excited!

Disappointing about the birds nest (one of my noms) tbh, I feel it deserved a semi final spot and would've got it if it was up against Monaco or the curragh or even against MCG it would've been close.

I have 1 nom left and I can't see it not winning at this stage. The draw has been unkind to some venues and very kind to others *cough*Monaco*cough*

Really sorry to miss this, just the way work was today.

Melbourne Cricket Ground v Aviva Stadium
I probably would have voted the Aviva here, just because i was there and saw 2 teams I love play here. Neither won but 2 draws, loved the experience.

    St. Andrew's v Croker
    No competition......Croker

    Monaco v The Curragh
Said already in the thread, used to be quite a follower of F1 and it was Monaco that attracted me to the sport so happy with the result.

    Crucible v Beijing
    The Crucible because Dennis Taylor

Even if i had been here things would have gone the same way so happy enough.

I'm not around this eve for the final

Can I pm my choices or just list them here?

Missed this round because of work, the only disappointment is croker going out, but St. Andrews is a great golf course so it is deserving of its semi final placement, I still would have voted croker though

Hit me up via PM pal. List your order of preference and I’ll take it from that in case any come up against each other.
