Saw this on Wubble Wubble's last attempt too, suspicious I am :pac:

What is the first blank split about (--:-- /km)

 Where are you seeing that?

Don’t see anything on my Mac. Must be a windoze glitch. ;)

    And positioned 23rd :pac::pac::pac::pac:

Going back to Murphs analogy this is like a 6 handicapper hitting the green in a nearest the pin challenge and then watching a bunch of Sunday hackers knock it in to a foot...:pac:

Work took me to Westport today and the plant I was at was located right on the Western Greenway. I measured out around 6.4 kms on maps for where I intended to turn back from my start location. I figured my pace would bring me to 12.8ish kms for the hour. Not a hope. The sun was out and I think I enjoyed the run and location just too much. Almost like a giddy cow being let out of the sheds after the winter.

TLDR; 57:54 today but the time and pace weren't too much in my thoughts.

Stewards inquiry. Two man effort ;)

    13.60km in 1:01:36, 4:32/km

Too slow this time. Should have worn shoes with carbon plated soles.

For the February Challenge, stick me down for 35 minutes. I don’t think I’d run it tomorrow, but I’ve 4 weeks to get there.

56:59... way out! In my defence a lot of this was over hills and along sloppy boreens. Very hard to gauge pace correctly and in the end I overcompensated for the PSF (Perceived Slop Factor)

Its a very good challenge, and interesting to run without numbers dictating what goes on. Fair play to Mr. Challenge Master!:D

https://www.strava.com/activities/4705423750 (stopped the watch at 56:59 then started again for another 20min)

Edit- 44min for 10k re February challenge

Second attempt for me today 59:42 - https://strava.app.link/JqOrmJ6jtdb

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,623 ✭✭✭dna_leri

I was going to appeal my effective DQ earlier but decided to give it another try instead.
Ran 58:55 according to Strava https://www.strava.com/activities/4704772745
Not as good as before, must be getting fitter. :)
I still reserve my right to appeal to CAS

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,338 ✭✭✭eyrie

Attempt no. 3 and finally one worth validating! 30:08. Ran the same route as attempt no. 2 (which was about 3 mins too quick) and added on a bit. Worked like a charm, though the wind definitely helped today too ;)

Hey P, welcome! Thanks for participating. I see you are still doing the FastLane. Cool to have that with the Lockdown

Thanks for running this M. It made a few, otherwise run of the mill training runs interesting. And the thread was entertaining to follow. Fair play.

24 seconds out and I'm in the bottom half. Dearie me.

Not to mind. Stick me down for a 45 min February 10k.

Looks like my log title was right :D:D:D

    ...seriously tho, complete fluke.

I fear this may be my Leicester City moment..

In fairness, only running the 30 min version means my 8 seconds over is really the equivalent of 16 seconds for someone running 60 mins if you take it as a percentage margin of error. So I would have no issue with mine being doubled!
