I find Parrot the worst of the lot. Both commentating and as a pundit.

Yeah I tend to zone out when he's commentating on a match, he's very annoying

Higgins appreciated that clearance, it was like one of his.

Terrific break from Yan for the respotted black. Hope it's not for nothing.

Wonderful clearance, absolutely first class . Gave him 15% chance of potting pink, superb cueing.

  • Majestic.

So much more composure than most of his compatriots.

    Fantastic frame won by Yan.

Brilliant potting from Yan, his position is a bit all over the place though. Game on.

Yeh...great effort and gets his reward - will have given Higgins something to think about.

Top notch frame for the neutral viewer!

You could only give him a 5% or less chance in that frame from 67 down, brilliant

Higgins must be the opposite of cockerhoop now :pac:

I'm sure it'll be Virgo and Hendry on commentary after the interval.

That yellow could be a turning point

  • Registered Users Posts: 13,023 ✭✭✭✭Joe_ Public

Did that earlier today too, changed his mind on a simple shot and ended up missing it. Signs of vulnerability there perhaps.

:pac: Maybe in comms "bs talk" terms :P

Even now Higgins is still fav

  • Yan is sinking the tricky ones and leaving himself short on the gimmes.

Higgins with the counterpunch, normal service resumed! Riveting final though, thoroughly absorbed. Still a bit doubtful yans nerve will hold up all the way but wouldn't underestimate him either.

“Are we gonna keep playing here gents?”

Paul Collier was having that rerack whether the players wanted it or not!

Sorry to go back to the commentary thing but I'm forced to watch the final on BBC and I just find it utterly painful after watching on Eurosport till now.

Mammy's favourites in the commentary box, John Parrot aptly named parroting back his own cliches. I've never heard him say an insightful thing in my life. And that host has exactly zero presenter appeal.

But it's all the BBC's fault really, setting up the commentary to talk the clueless through it all. I feel like I'm in a nursing home when I watch snooker on the BBC.

    Mammy’s favourites is funny.

The likes of Dale, McManus, Hendry have just brought commentary on with their more knowledgeable, technical approach. What it reminds me of is Gary Neville, Jamie Carragher and other younger pundits bringing a modern approach to analysis, making the Giles, Brady, Dunphy RTE panel sound very antiquated and almost hard to watch.
