It's locked to a UK network. What network shows on the splash screen when turning it on?

Region locked, Get it unlocked and back to factory settings. Your local chinese phone shop usually offer this service :)

You can probably get an unlock code on ebay

Pay a tenner to the phone shop, have a coffee, drop back in an hour, job done.
    Why complicate things ?

That never works, Back on to seller etc, I go with the tenner myself, You might even meet someone for a chat too, Too much done online and you get away from the keyboard too !

There are plenty of sellers on eBay who unlock Samsung’s in a matter of minutes for less than €10. I’ve unlocked at least 7 Samsung’s from a seller on eBay and the code is always there in under an hour.

    That is absolute crap.

As long as the seller has plenty of positive feedback for selling unlock codes AND you make sure you are buying the correct product for the phone/network you have it is by far the best way to get a phone unlocked.

Far better a legitimate code unlock than a dodgy backdoor hack done in person and possibly some spy software loaded on as a bonus.
