Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Please joe dig deep..........im wondering about the priest...was he a parish priest....
Maybe he was a nigerian priest?

This really irks me. RTE never reported about the homes during the 1960s/70s/80s when they might have been able to make a difference. It would have taken brave journalists to do this. Now, when it's popular to bash the Church, they come along like the white knight.

No-one does revisionism as well as RTE do it.

Does any money ‘change hands’ nowadays when Irish couples adopt children from Eastern Europe or China?

I think a huge amount of such money changes hands, but it's ok because those babies are forden so to speak.

At least those adopted seemed to get to go to better homes in the later years, rather than those send to farms to work years ago

No, his gripe is that his show wasn't used as prime evidence for the report.

How arrogant is he??? To hell with the kids, what about Joe? What about Joe?

I would guess that the pressure to have their babies adopted mostly came from their own families?

Just walked through a room which had Liveline on. Heard this exchange:

Joe: "Who signed the adoption papers?"

    Caller: "I don't know, I was a baby"

    I actually laughed out loud!

It was very confusing when I was a young chisler in the 1960s, where it was customary to address your parents' friends as "aunts" or "uncle".

Re vaccines, we will probably hear calls from grown-up chislers who never received this or that vaccine and got infected with diseases.
