I created new account and joined via poland however when I share with family members it says we are not in the same region even though they are on vpn. Anyway else experience this?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,552 ✭✭✭SickBoy

I think it mentions multiple times in this thread that the family group should be created before getting premium to avoid this problem.

Looks like I could sign up with Poland but they need an address, what did people use?

Irish Embassy is a handy one:

    Mysia 5, 00-496 Warszawa, Poland

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,741 ✭✭✭Hococop

Cheers, I'm assuming no one has had issues using it?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,296 ✭✭✭Scottie99

    Apologies I just saw this.

Im facilitating users who are struggling to get their youtube account at discounted rates. I help allocate them into family groups.

It cost €35 a year. All I ask them is to delete their family group and move their Google pay back to Ireland.

I've had no complaints and everyone has been very happy.

If you want me to cease then no problem.

Moved to Poland with zero issues. Another resident of the Irish embassy.

€11 per month isn't too bad, certainly a lot cheaper than Ireland! Had the cousins using 3 of my family slots for free whilst in Turkey 'cause it was so cheap. They can give me €25 per year for the privilege now.

My Indian account gone too, can't resign with any other country.

    We couldn't verify your country.

Lost my 2 year old Malaysian account due to card issues.

    Edit. Tried again. Ok now.

    €9 per month.

Hi all, looking for some advice. For some reason, no matter the device or VPN that I try - the prices only appear in Canadian dollars. Would anyone have any suggestions? My YouTube country is set to Poland and I've tried clearing browsing data etc..

    Thanks in advance.

6.13 euro exactly for me for Poland. Good value considering the full price and not having to watch ads. I was originally with India.

    So this is weird

My premium subscrition to Argentina finished yesterday so I was all set to go through Poland. Before doing that I thought I'd chance it through Argentina one more time so set tunnel bear to Argentina. Clicked on renew using my current credit card and it accepted 😃

My premium membership is now active again and due for renewal on the 27th January. Checked my credit card balance and it's taken €2.11

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,731 ✭✭✭CoBo55

What credit card are you using? Argentina was great value.

These are the steps I took.

Activated VPN on iPad to Mexico.

Opened the email I received from YouTube.

    Tapped RESTART MEMBERSHIP.

    Price appeared in Mexican $139 = €6.56

    Inserted Revolut card details.

    Used post code : 01010

    Account renewed.

So is it not possible to reuse the same family manager account to sign up to a new country? Each time I try I get Euro prices. If I try a different account I can see local prices

Tried registering through Poland with a VPN but the currency won't change from euros and wants 14.99, anyone know what I'm doing wrong? Same issue when I tried to connect via Argentina. Using a revolut card.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 74 ✭✭LBF21

Got the Turkey/iOS appstore method working fine. Thanks to whoever posted that.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 998 ✭✭✭mondeoman72

    Try this.

    Download tunnelbear.

Connect to country you want. (I used moldovia and paid 2.30 euro)

Make a new google ID / email

Download youtube and sign in with new email

Buy premium and it should charge you in the currency of the country you set. (I used revolut)

    Close tunnelbear.

Open youtube and sign in with new email you just set.

See what happens - its working for me now

Location set to Poland but prices showing as Canadian.

Hey thank you, this seems to of worked, moldovan vpn and it asked me to pay in ukranian currency, worked out to 2.30 per month.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 248 ✭✭Chibs

Kazakhstan worked for me on nord vpn. It works out at 5 euro a month. I was originally India.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,567 ✭✭✭Dymo

    Poland is still working.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,991 ✭✭✭DopeTech

Worth it if your on iPhone for getting rid of the ads

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,580 ✭✭✭Arthur Daley

Assume Poland will always work, as an EU country.

If Google force people to pay the crazy price in Ireland over another EU country, they can stuff it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,930 ✭✭✭Simi

That'll likely be the next step after they've finished forcing us out of Argentina/India/Turkey

As the likes of Sky have learned with Now tv, quite a bit of revenue is better than no revenue.

If Now tv didn't do deals most of the people would easily walk instead of paying a crazy price. Poland Youtube is still about 140 euro a year for a family. That is almost a tv licence. That's the ceiling for many.

I've moved to YT Brazil.. Partner's Brazilian card accepted.

Tunnel Bear worked through the Android app (browser would not work).. NordVPN is a big no no as it seems to be black listed.

But it requires the CPF (Tax number) and address to match. €6.50p.m. for Premium Family. Up from around €3.80 in Argentina. Might be an option for some..

Was a clean switch from Arg→BR

No problem with what you are doing. As I said in OP, there are far too many posts which don’t actually say what you do. Put some more information into your posts, thats all. People new to the thread wouldn’t have a clue what you are offering.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,993 ✭✭✭Johnny Storm

The iPhone Turkish Apple gift card method has worked for me. Thanks to all who posted it.

Fingers crossed that it lasts a while.

I'm just wondering - does anyone in Ireland actually pay €26 each and every month for a family Youtube Premium account? - seems like pisspoor value to me.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,256 ✭✭✭antimatterx

I'm sure enough do as they keep increasing the price.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,864 ✭✭✭bromley52

I would think that 99.9% wouldn't know of any other option.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,448 ✭✭✭califano

Only found out recently my brother does pay the €26(happy wife happy life main reason I think). So hes going to add me to his family when I get booted early January.

I know a family needs to be set up first but you can add/switch people once every 12mths I believe.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,622 ✭✭✭✭dulpit

You can add people to your family easily if you have the space. The difficulty people run into in this thread is when their family is based in Ireland but the premium account was set up on foreign shores...

Got the Turkish IOS method working hopefully lasts. Thanks to whoever posted

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 638 ✭✭✭jimmyendless

Tried various countries, only ones that didn't say they couldn't verify my country were Mexico and Poland so now i'm half way through a delicious bowl of Pierogi.

FYI: Tunnelbear, Edge private tab for what its worth, mastercard, irish embassy.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,731 ✭✭✭CoBo55

My method was, create new Revolut virtual card making sure it was a MasterCard, turn on tunnelbear and set to Peru, then open the YouTube app not a browser, settings, membership, renew premium. I then entered the new card details followed by a googled Peru address and it went through perfectly. Maybe using the app was what got it working, maybe it's the new Revolut virtual card, who knows?

Anyone have an issue with getting the phone verification code using the Apple/iPhone method? I got an error saying "cannot create an account at this time"
