Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Ryan flying too close to the sun here without knowing it. McLean was also making the point that the FA doesnt want to know about the abuse he and his family endures despite making a big deal of their equality and kick racism out campaigns.

Tubs making things up now. The lady in question (Erin McClean) said she attended the match Bryan, she didn’t watch it on tv.

That was some lecture to the twitter bullies.

With the usual patronising tone of a voice of a third class teacher. I'm sure all those nasty trolls will pay heed and stop saying mean things about him

I can’t do this anymore this morning. Even by his own standards, this is appalling radio and utter waffle.

Bryan comparing his treatment online to that of James McClean is pretty low though and shows once again just how out of touch he is.

I haven't listened to Newstalk for a number of years, once reason maybe having contributors describing a french rugby player as having "harry potteresque skills" #monkeytennis

What did Twitter do to earn Tubs ire?

You're correct in that he was a big fan for a while.
From memory he received some very minor criticism along the lines of him being a young fogey etc. and decided it was a cesspit and he announced he was "done with it".

Him equating the criticism he received with the death threats received by James McClean was an incredibly self-centered and tone-deaf thing to do. He's done this type of thing before where he puts himself in the shoes and on equal status of fame with various celebs, in a "we're all in this together" and "the celeb club" type nonsense.

But don't forget, it's bullying when it happens to Tubs; but when Tubs is the instigator and Shane Lynch is on the receiving end then it's all just a bit of fun.

I don't think he's that self-aware caller, we have ample evidence to know it's not his strong point. To him that was just a toe-tappin' ditty from a young lady from the Top 40 Hit Parade from days of yore.

Talking about my late cousin Liane, and her live sister Jane Deasy now, so careful with the comments here.

So people have to be careful of comments of Tubridy's radio show in certain, specific and personal situations of particular contributors to the radio forum.

    That's good to know.

Yeah it's disgraceful that License Fee Payers such as myself have the cheek to question where our money is being spent, whether or not it's being spent wisely, and if we're getting value for it.

The abuse he got on Twitter was very mild - I've certainly received far worse on here in public and PMs. Someone in the public eye should have thicker skin.

I have found a way of coping with the feather-weight nature of this radio show. It used to drive me insane, so now, instead of listening to it on the days I'm not at work (virtually, needless to say) I use the valuable hour between 9 and 10 to go for my brisk walk. By doing this, I miss the angst and upset I used to feel, and get my exercise for the day. It's a far better way to spend the hour, and I listen to an audiobook or music. Come rain or shine

I haven't given up on this thread, however, it's an essential part of my day!
