Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

It's the worst I've seen in a long time, reminds me of those primitive earliest websites.

Toy show to turn into an annual telethon type charity drive. Intrinsically linked with charity = beyond question. Dont know what this is about a "toy show foundation" but surely theres enough charities in ireland already. Is Tuttle going to be invoicing the charity for its services too?

Just as an aisde it's a industry that needs to be looked at closely generally.

He cud bring his gang of butcher pals as back up. They could show up swinging a chain of sausages around like a weapon.

Re Iceland, I first travelled there in 1979 with that travel agency which was located in Dunville Avenue, a short walk away from me at the time. Was my first ever self-financed trip, Easter time, followed by a main holiday in the Soviet Union that summer. Visited the Haemaey Island, which had only three years earlier endured a major volcanic disaster which could have destroyed the community. Was the first voyage I ever endured seasickness as did everyone else on board the ship.

Here's Bryan's "research" for either tomorrow's or Thursday's show

    Hello,

We would like your help to promote the ‘Ireland Reads’ campaign and share this information with your colleagues and contacts.

The aim of Ireland Reads campaign is to encourage people to pledge to read on Thursday February 25th

So perhaps take a little time or encourage your colleagues to do so and join in and ‘Squeeze in a Read’ - be it a book, a paper, a comic, a poem….

Irish libraries have teamed up with publishers, booksellers, authors and others for the campaign, which is part of the Healthy Ireland ‘Keep Well’ initiative, funded by Sláintecare.

The Ireland Reads website www.irelandreads.ie is there to help! It can offer some reading inspiration to people – simply enter the type of book you like best, how long you have available to read each day and the website will suggest the perfect book and tell you how long it will take to read it.

Please help us to spread the word about Ireland Reads initiative by:
    • Sharing our campaign resources available at https://www.irelandreads.ie/#resources
    • Following Libraries Ireland on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook and sharing our content
    • Sharing what’s great about reading, books and Ireland Reads on your social media accounts using #IrelandReads and #KeepWell

He did indeed. Among many other promises that he dished out in order to get into the national good books. And he hasn't the balls to come out and address this now. It just never happened.

I put this behaviour in the same bracket as his repeated comments that "Barry McGuigan wanted to do the LLS" (in other words, "dont blame me"). It's also the same as, "I feel a bit ghoulish asking you this and I'm not sure I'm comfortable with my question but I'll ask you anyway...what song are you playing at your funeral?"

There has been a strong backlash due to the LLS really depressing and patronizing people. He has not directly addressed this either , he just makes the odd indirect comment that next week is going to be fun.

He hasn't got the courage to stand over his own words or directly address any criticism. He's a cowardly broadcaster.

He promised over the last few weeks that the LLS will be turning up the fun-o-meter, but me and him must have different definitions of fun.

There was still a steady supply of death, disease and covid. So I think his "fun" is just being slightly less morbid than the previous week.

yeah, someone on the LLS thread described this as gas-lighting audience.

He'll often take an interview about illness or abuse and tell you it's hopeful because the person didnt die.
