Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    do RTE own Irelands Own?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,185 ✭✭✭mistersifter

Again he is telling people to buy Irelands Own and send it to someone abroad.

Surely a paid promotion.. Do they not have to state when they are doing such a promotion?

That's how the tax avoidance scam works isnt it?

They take a reasonable salary from their company but pay for most things, day to day stuff on the company credit card which lowers their tax liabilities.

Something must be changing hands for that in some way. Hardly just randomly decided to do it himself.

I've wondered about this before. Someone posted the rates for Late Late sponsorship.

Promotion on Tubs radio show was included as part of some of the packages.

I would of assumed that just like TV, there was a requirement to disclose product placement. I guess not.

Independent News and Media own it as far as I can see.

I saw this on my phone yesterday and it just keeps on popping into my head.

There is undoubtedly layers of associated drivel of every type and description on the Internet.

Then you have the RSVP Live Website, who under their "News" category have a Journalist basically writing a whole article about really inane, rambling, drivel Ryan Tubridy mentioned in passing on his radio show.

    https://www.rsvplive.ie/news/celebs/rtes-ryan-tubridy-admits-living-23542499

This is it folks, the very bottom of the deep and murky pit.
    RSVP Live wrote:
Speaking on his Radio 1 show this morning, Ryan told his listeners how he headed out of a walk on Saturday morning but was met with terrible weather conditions:

“I made the fatal error - well it wasn’t fatal, I’m still here. But I made the mistake of going for a walk on Saturday afternoon. There’s only so much you can take of being in the house - you have to leave the house in my head. To leave the house and replace one set of walls with a metal set of walls with the car isn’t the answer - I want fresh air.

    Ryan went on:

“So I went out and it looked like a bit of a drizzle but I said it would be fine. As I was going down people were coming back telling me ‘Don’t do it! You might never return!” I know I’m skinny but I can throw a few stones in my pockets.

"It’s only a walk! It’s not like I was hopping on the Titanic. But they were right… I couldn’t have been happier to get home back to the four walls again. Then yesterday I woke up to this beautiful Spring. If it’s a sign of things to come with the weather then there’s hope on the horizon.”

^^ Him and his walks. I wonder if there are people out there who read and enjoy that sorta drivel.

they also have an interview with him boasting about how much work he does.
    Deluded.

Mikie, you should reassess your journalism career.

    Cos that's aul sh1te.

Dont worry Ryan. You'll be in the corporate box at concerts and matches again soon, sipping champagne all courtesy of Noel Kelly. Yes you truly are a turf muncher like the rest of us.

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,530 ✭✭✭PieOhMy

In fairness at least he also laughs at the rte player

27mins in and only 2 comments.....shows you just how insignificant this show really is.

    Zero content.

I wonder what Meghan will be on to talk about?

    Books or cancer?

I've only come on to say he keeps mispronouncing Frasier (the Seattle TV show) as Fraser. Not much today alright!

I usualy drop out at this point.

And of course today will be no exception.

Apart from pretending that he attends concerts like the rest of us it wasnt particularly annoying today. Just no content. It was just pointless noise. 30mins of adds would be as entertaining. 500k for filler.

I heard him telling tha writer " you write workplace spoofers brilliantly"

will she be doing Ryan's biography then or....?

Cancer podcast. 2nd story. Looking forward to hearing from the hosts on rte soon. And by 'looking forward' I of course mean 'ryan you are a creep and a weirdo'

Ooooooh Mary Robinson is going to be on. I hope he comes hard at her with the questions. The one question I want him to ask is "If you were not happy with the photos being released after your visit to see Latifa (which you said in the documentary), why did you not voice your concerns about this to anybody at the time? Was it preferable at the time for you to keep your own reputation and not try to help Latifa?"

Toyshow mentioned for the second time and its 9.15 in February.

Better chance of him saying “did you know I’m ridiculously overpaid and even I can’t believe I’m getting away with this!”

Don't be daft. This is Tubs, it's going to be "we all know about the beautiful work you did as president and the work you did in the UN with friend of the show Samantha Power. But what we all really want to know is do you know anyone with a terminal or long-term illness. And can you tell us about it".

Lol fairly quickly abandoned that email saying dcu was full of snobs

I hear your cynicism, but I do remember him being the only one who showed Ibrahim Halawa the footage of him giving a speech to 10,000 people, while on holiday of course. (I remember I was in Courtown one time and I ended up giving a political speech outside The Crock Of Gold). It's probably very unlikely given that Mary Robinson is another one of the Irish sacred cows, but maybe a few straight questions? I don't know if that's a plea or a hope!

Disgraceful. Drawing misery out of a 10 year old now.
It's the same format every day, books, presidents, history, famine, Beatles, school, misery. And he's "intrigued" by everything. How is this allowed to go on?
    It's bonkers and peculiar.
