Maybe I’m being a bit dim...

Got a new set of wheels today and went to fit a 105 5800 cassette, which I’ve done a few times with no issues. When I look at the wheel instruction booklet there’s a graphic which seems to suggest that a cassette which has separate cogs is not suitable. An image of the graphic will follow...

Once the wheels are 11 speed and shimano it should be fine.

maybe it's just a ham fisted way of saying 'put the large sprockets on first'.

    what are the wheels?

They’re Mavic Cosmic Pro Carbon, 10/11 speed Shimano, so I’m sure it’s all fine.
That graphic has thrown me though. The lesson is, never read the instructions.

The graphic is simply indicating that the sprockets must be fitted in order - not randomly. It's sort of dummy proofing.

    Great, thank you!

It's clearly not dummy proof enough! :o

    True that!
Full disclosure, I had already tried putting the cassette on before I looked at the instructions - I've swapped cassettes loads of times before so I didn't bother. When I started to tighten it up, it didn't quite feel right, so I panicked a bit and opened the instructions. Seeing the image, coupled with the "not quite right feeling" had me worried, so I said I'd ask.
I think the first time I tried it, the 11 sprocket wasn't seated correctly. It's fitted now and ready to roll.
    Thanks all.

Ha! Lies. If it wasn't for GDPR, I'd love to list the stupid questions I get asked on a daily basis :D
