The Scottish criminal appeal court has ruled against an appeal brought by the family of the late Abdelbasset Al-Megrahi.

Al Meghari's lawyers have released a statement on behalf of his family, which said they were "left heartbroken by the decision of the Scottish courts".

It said the family have instructed the legal team to appeal to the UK Supreme Court and lodge an application within 14 days.

The statement added: "The family demand the release of secret evidence held by the UK government, which they believe incriminates others such as Iran and the Syrian-Palestinian group, the foreign secretary had refused to do so, this must happen for the truth to emerge."

Is there any credibility to the claims that the Iranian and Syrian governments plotted the destruction of Pan Am Flight 103 in retaliation for the mistaken shooting-down of an Iranian airliner by the USS Vincennes and that the British and US governments pinned the blame on the Gaddafi regime in order to keep Syrian president Hafez al-Assad on side for Operation Desert Storm?

Why won't the British government open its secret files about the bombing of Flight 103?

Did you mean to post this in Conspiracy Theories :D

Gaddafi did accept responsibility since Abdelbaset Ali Mohammed al-Megrahi was a government employee.

and that the British and US governments pinned the blame on the Gaddafi regime in order to keep Syrian president Hafez al-Assad on side for Operation Desert Storm?

    Nah ,nah

Pan Am flight 103 was blown up in 1988

Operation Desert storm took place in January 1991.

Given that the Al-Megrahi family's allegation is mentioned in a mainstream news report, isn't it a matter worth discussing here?

The invasion of Kuwait took place only two years after the bombing. Why would the British government hide information about it?

Just looked at various online newspaper front pages and can see numerous stories that are unlikely ever to see dedicated thread in this forum

and with that you confirm this is essentially a Conspiracy Theory
