Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Lee Hendrie & Stan Collymore share a voice!

Has taken me a long time to figure out that it's Lee Hendrie that has been commentating on Sky the last couple weeks.

Ndombele has the potential to be one of the top 3 CMs in the league.

Poor quality game so far, much like most games in the league this season.

Oh well, give me an easy life and a peaceful death.

City basically may as well be top now.

As a United supporter, I'm somewhat disappointed, I don't think in Liverpool's unbeaten spell at home they've ever been more "there for the taking" than they were tonight.

In their current form, I think city will make light work of both Palace and Villa and once they go top they may never look back.

Poor quality game so far, much like most games in the league this season.

Certainly since the New Year it has dropped dramatically. Teams are very happy to go 1-0 up and "control the game".

Looking at the fixtures to come, some teams are down to play the 28th, 31st Jan and 3rd and 6th of February so it's not looking like picking up soon.

City matching last seasons best league run of 5 games won in a row.

They play Villa, West Brom, Sheff Utd and Burnley before Liverpool in next 5 fixtures. Could be a very significant 5 fixtures for them.

Yup... they don't need to do what they did in 17/18 and 18/19, they can win this year while still playing within themselves. I'm also worried about Aguero returning to fitness for the second half of the season with fresh legs.

Utd have Fulham and Sheff Utd. Two wins there and City are still second.

If City win their games they go a point ahead of United.

If anyone can fvck things up in two easy ties it's United.

If anyone can win 2 easy ties by 3 or more goals it's City.

    Glazers Out!

City are pretty much matching what they did last season point wise and are on course to match their points total or similar from last season, which will probably be enough to win the league. The big difference this season is that Liverpool are looking like they'll end up 20- 25 points back from last season's total, plus United look like they'll gain around 10 points. The rest are fairly similar to last season plus or minus a few points.

So what you actually mean is if city win their next two games and Utd don't then they'll be top.

Because you made that blanket statement that if they win their next two game then they'll definitely be top. That however is not correct.
They'll still have a game in hand against against Everton, which as yet has no date fixed to be played, and they won't be top if Utd also win their next two.

Man City play 2 games by the end of the 26th, while Man Utd play 1. If Man City win both games, they’ll be top by at least a point regardless what Utd do, with both teams on 19 games played.

Then Utd play the following day and can go ahead again, with an game extra played.

The more you look at it the more remarkable that Liverpool are only 3 points off the top ,
Not only are they missing there 3 best CBs but there two most effect CM's from the last 3 season's are also not playing in midfield,

One CB and Matip back fit and Liverpool will be a completely different prospect

    It's incredible really.

Matip has been twice injured already too so even when Liverpool do get him back you'd have to wonder how long it's going to be for.

Gomez have been twice injured but the second one has put him out indefinitely.

Alisson has been injured twice & Keita twice also.

Thiago for 2 & a half months, Jota for what's looking like will be the same.

Milner, Hendo, Shaq, & Trent, have all been out injured also.

All of these injuries mentioned are significant injuries resulting in a lay-off of 10 days or more.

As well as that you have Salah, Mane & Thiago have all been missing at times due to COVID-related absences.

MOTD always start with the game of the day you see.

For all the build up & hype there was leading up to the game yesterday, it says a lot about how it actually played out when Sheffield V Spurs got shown ahead of it.

The Premier League can today confirm that between Monday 11 January and Sunday 17 January, across two rounds of testing, 3,115 players and club staff were tested for COVID-19. Of these, there were 16 new positive tests

So much for the suggestion the league would be "suspended soon" .

We can have no excuses there. He doesn't look like he'll be scoring them anytime soon either & hasn't for a while now tbh.

Thankful for this of course :)

FA investigating the transfer of Sondgrass between West Ham and WBA.

Big Sam went public saying the only way WBA could sign Snodgrass was if the agreed not to play him in this game.

He would have been a WBA player outright and West Ham should have no control if he played or not.

I'd very much doubt it if that clause was in Snodgrass' contract, probably more of a gentleman's agreement before the transfer went through.
Nothing ever came from the investigation into this transfer in the same year that Sheffield Utd. screamed about third party contract interference with Tevez, so I don't think anything would come from this.

    Chelsea 1 down.

    Chelsea 1 down.

Lampard on the slow road to being sacked.

Looked a cracking goal by Ndidi but having seen the replay perhaps a mid-hit.

A very slow road, anyone else managing Chelsea would have been sacked after the Arsenal hammering, sooner even.

Leicester are all over them here, Maddison unlucky not to make it 2-0.
