Massive dinner plate flakes near Santry

Lighter ppn now. About 1-3 cm give or take. Was lucky to get some of the heavier precipitation here - roads and everything are white and I'm a 5 min walk from the coast. Is that it until next year? Probably..

Still heaviesh snow but its gotten brighter and I even think I see blue sky to my east off the seafront in Bray.

Got up for a slash in night, must have been between 4 and 5 and seemed to be a partial thaw. Woke up at 7 to go to work and was a good covering again - In Kinnegad.

Was probably 3cm on car, lovely fluffy snow, straight back to the 80's seeing that type of snow. Great for snowmen I'd say, pity I'm in work. Just a bit more than a skiff in North Kildare.

People out firing snowballs and building snowmen, was worth the wait in D5. Has been snowing non stop for over 3 hours now

First time I have witnessed this. Drove up the motor way from Dublin 15 to Dublin 5. Very little lying snow in Blanchardstown and a whiteout in Dublin 5 near Santry/Coolock. 10 minutes drive on motorway.

The snow last night in Lusk, massive flakes for a while - adults and kids then out having snowball fights, great to see the joy it brings.

Nothing in D24, barely a dusting last night. Ah well, roll on an easterly in February!

  • Registered Users Posts: 23,755 ✭✭✭✭Kermit.de.frog

Thank god I didn't wait up. Would have slept through this :pac:

About 3cm here, still going strong

Balbriggan NCD, the heaviest snow fell between midnight and 1am, over an inch settled from massive flakes. Sky cleared later for a few hours allowing a freeze. No wind throughout.
Sure we've had light snow from the sea again this morning, but of no real significance with already so much snow on the ground.
If the east breeze picks up it'll be gone in no time.

Meanwhile in my part of Dublin 9 the ground is pretty much just wet.

Incredibly local. Cloud is continuing to break up just to my West so I will not be pulling this one out of the bag! Such a shame.
