Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

How is Hooker vs. Chandler a co-main event?

He’s due to walk at 5.15

I don’t think arriving early is a massive deal with the Abu Dhabi set up. Fighters are next door and have area to warm up, roll, pads, etc

    They don't need a heavy-hitting co-main when Conor's in the building.

Although I love the Chandler v Hooker fight

Cracker on now! Come on The Hangman, comes across like a nice lad and he's some scrapper.

I think the bigger question is how the 3 fights before it were on the main card of a PPV in the positions they were in (JoJo Vs Eye probably could sneak into the first 5 of a PPV card).

Considering there's no title fights on this card, I would consider it a solid Co-main event.

I like Calderwood but she stands ZERO chance in a fight against Valentina. I'm sure Valentina could beat both Calderwood and Eye in a 2v1 fight.

Was just saying the same thing.
Valentina would crush them in a handicap match.
How is Hooker vs. Chandler a co-main event?

    Why wouldn’t it be

    Should be a banger.

Has Conor worn a mask yet?

Haven’t seen him wearing one at all during this event..

The embedded lead up had him wearing a mask several times around the hotel.

Plenty of times. He was wearing one when he arrived at the W hotel for the first time.

Everyone within the bubble is tested and cleared of Covid, so why would anyone need to wear a mask anyway?

I can see Hooker catching him with a knee as Chandler shoots for a takedown.

    It was just a question/observation..

I wish Chandler entered the UFC sooner, he's so physically gifted that seeing a younger man there instead of in Bellator would have been so cool.

Lads we're something like 300+ posts on this thread so far an Conor hasn't fought yet. I thought Conor's popularity was at rock bottom according to some on the MMA sub.

He's no Will Brooks, that's for sure.

    Absolute statement for his debut.

As much as I was looking forward to that fight, I'm very tired. So thank you Michael Chandler for giving us an entertaining finish so quickly.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,920 ✭✭✭The Floyd p

He's such a freak athlete. He flies across the cage. Damn....

Fair ****s to him. Better than the usual "I'll fight anyone" narrative.

That’s how to do it these days.

    He played his moment well.

Also, Anik is now doing advertising in his commentary during the round ffs.

Chandler corny as **** in his call out. Him and Gaethje the obvious fight to make.

Call out seemed forced. But was smart enough to cast a wide net.
    He wants the red panties.

It was a good promo, the UFC have their Chandler soundbite now and that’s what he wanted.

Great MMA performance too, for what it’s worth.

It's apparently a WWF callout? IDK if many modern MMA fans remember old school Ric Flair tbh
