And that's the biggest issue he faces; between the impeachment, election cases and now these cases, he's not hiring lawyers for their expertise or advice, he's hiring lawyers who will just parrot his talking points because he's so sure he's right and that being President (former President) should mean absolute immunity from anything and everything, even though in this case it's his business dealings from before he was President and he's no longer the sitting President when the case is being brought.

And the lawyers will gladly go along with it for the most part because they can blame the failures on biased judges/AGs etc, and will have a cushy number doing the rounds as a talking head on news channels for a few years. And shady businessmen will always need shady lawyers to represent them.

Ah yes the old "just asking a question".

you not being a lawyer, doesn't prevent you from doing even the most basic of research attempts before "just asking a question"

As we are well aware by now any information from Trump or anyone working with him is immediately suspect and should be verified before making a fool of oneself.

Come on, there's a reason trump chose her. Have you seen her? Seriously, his HR people must have the easiest job in the world: "We need a new heavy goods truck driver with years of experience hauling delicate equipment." "Can he be a hot woman in late 20s/early 30s?" "Yes... Yes they can"

Y'know, NOW would be a great time for Guilani to release this PROOF that Hilary Clinton is/was spying. The stuff he has been sitting on "for years".

I, for one, agree with him and trump et! I say RELEASE this proof. Deflect from trump's spiraling situation. I WANT to see this proof. Please. PLEASE release this proof.

... Oh wait, he can't? It's not proof? Say it ain't so. I am stunned that a lawyer of his standing would lie like that.... Oh wait, he's disbarred?

It is widely accepted that Rudy guiliani performed very well as mayor especially after 9/11.

He also single nearly single handedly rid New York of the mafia.

He has a history of accomplishmens but ye wouldn't choose to brong them up of course oh no.

and that is all a long time ago. He fucked up his legacy when he got involved with trump.

  • Registered Users Posts: 22,625 ✭✭✭✭extra gravy

What's any of that got to do with his involvement with Trump? You can always start a Rudy appreciation thread if you're such a fan.

Because they're not relevant to this thread or to Giuliani's actions in the past few years as Trump's lawyer. Not to mention that Giuliani standing outside Four Seasons Total Landscaping and finding out Biden was declared winner of the election was the final nail with regards his reputation, yet he's still hammered in more nails since then anyway.

Giuliani's reputation has been utterly sullied to the point that he's little more than a punchline at this stage. That all comes from his last few years with Trump, which is what this thread is about.

Thats due to the fact that he has completely tarnished his legacy with the **** he has pulled over the last few years.

yes he done great things years ago going after the mob and as mayor of NYC but now the poor bugger is just batshit.

Harold Shipman saved some peoples lives before he murdered all those old people but no one ever mentions that about him.

    Poor old Rudy

Went from prosecuting crime families to working for one

He did a decent job in the immediate aftermath of 9/11 certainly.

I'd question the "single-handedly brought down the Mafia thing" though - Yes he was the DA at the time but it was a team of ADA's that did all the work and in fact tried the cases , Rudi did the Press conferences and not much else.

But even so , he utterly destroyed that any shred of that positive legacy in the time since then - All the way from repping for Purdue pharma to try to get the cases against them around Oxycontin abuse rejected up to and including his ongoing "work" for Trump.

Doing some good things 20+ years ago isn't life-time air-cover for being an awful human being now.

Talk is that he specifically went after the Cosa Nostra to make room for the Russian syndicates

Having Trump on anyone's books is barely worth the paper it's written on, he's not well known for paying what he owes people. Also any lawyer worth their salt risks having their standing dragged through the mud by doing that orange idiot's exact bidding in-court.

I feel that any lawyer who willingly takes on Trump as a client at this stage must be:

    A) Someone who thinks that they are such a good lawyer they they will succeed where others have failed.

    B) Someone truly blind to the true nature of the guy and took the job unaware.

    or,

    C) A MAGA zealot in service of their God-King (based on behavior, she's probably this)

Any proof ? I have that theory very interesting

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,074 ✭✭✭TheIrishGrover

But surely he would present this proof of Clinton spying. He has the proof. For years apparently. If ever trump needed it, it's now. Or even better, BEFORE the last election. That would have handed trump the election.

So obviously it is fair to say that there is NO proof. At most, there is similar unverifiable "eyewitness" testimony of said spying. Maybe he can bring another drunk woman as proof.

The fact of the matter is: If there was proof - irrefutable, verifiable proof, it would have been brought up years ago and it has not. So there is none and he is lying. Which is part of the reason why he is disgraced and disbarred. He is the poster boy of how toxic a relationship to trump organisation is. He has sacrificed his career, his reputation, his personal dignity! As others have said, now he is simply a joke, a punchbag. Decades from now he will be used as a cautionary tale of choosing who you deal with.

    D) knows that their only path to success is through the fame/infamy of being associated with trump. We will see this lawyer on Dancing With The Stars or something similar in a year or so and then go to fox as soon as she bleaches her hair.

    Speaking of Rudi...

The last thing Guliani tried to slam was Borat's underage niece...

New lawyer typical #2xIMPOTUS legal team. Mediocre school, not much professional experience. If she pulls more nonsense she'll learn what a judge's displeasure can bring to lawyers.

Passed the bar in the usual states around NYC (NJ, Connecticut). Seems to practice out of NJ, not Wall Street

Jimmy Savile raised millions for charity. We don't talk about that anymore because he took a great big shíte over his own legacy.

Giuliani is not on the same level as Savile but by shilling for the likes of Purdue and associating himself with Trump, he's completely tainted any goodwill people had for him in the aftermath of 9/11.

BLM, immigrant caravans, MSM, Hillary - the right certainly do love a boogie man...

  • Registered Users Posts: 13,471 ✭✭✭✭kowloon

I've seen Guiliani's past mentioned several times on Boards. People wonder why he has destroyed his own legacy. Now he'll be remembered for a bizarre press conference at a garden centre, trying to dig up dirt on Trump's opponents, and having a tug in front of Borat's niece. At this stage, he can't even disappear off the stage with the explanation that he's just a crazy old man.

Let's not forget he is allegedly on the masked singer (I seem to have read that somewhere) utterly bizarre even for him if he is.

"Special Counsel John Durham himself has dismissed Fox News misleading reports about his court filing"

What's the next fake news story?

  • Registered Users Posts: 21,645 ✭✭✭✭Tell me how

Checked Twitter to see '#Hillaryforprison' is trending.

A sure sign Donald is panicing because he is probably knows he is fcuked. He campaigned 6 years ago on a simplistic catchphrase of 'Lock Her Up' and of course when he was President he did nothing, and could do nothing because there was nothing to prosecute her for.

And now, as he becomes more and more vulnerable, she is returned to once again. It's a sure sign they have nothing when they go back to the only thing that worked for them in desperation at this point.
