Banning them from schools is banning them, sorry that simple definition is a stretch too far for you . And who said the teachers should discuss their personal lives with their students? They’re banned from even discussing gay people exist whatsoever with 17 year olds. That’s ridiculous, no doubt you’ll cry about free speech all the time yet you’re all for censorship and making it illegal for gay people to be discussed with 17 year olds. Could it be that you’re a massive hypocrite?

Can you guess the question Trump was asked, based on the inane answer he gives?

Yeah.. by that logic , abortion isn't banned in Alabama because you can drive to New York to get one...

Teachers are not allowed to even acknowledge the existence of a homosexual person , they are not allowed to say Slavery was bad , they are not allowed to say that the internment of thousands of Japanese Americans was bad, among many other things.

In the modern GOP worldview , America has always been awesome , everything has always been sunshine and lollipops and everyone is a gun loving, god fearing heterosexual and absolutely no one is allowed to even suggest that anything has ever been any different.

They are terrified of trying to explain or justify actual history and just want to pretend it never happened. They want to ignore the existence of anyone and anything that doesn't fit their exact vision of how the world should be.

The United States of Stepford is what they want.

Pathetic cowards each and every one of them.

Anti free speech and pro censorship which you’re all for when DeSantis does it

Well Covid didnt help the accounts.

Surprised to see that there are loads of tee times for tomorrow and Friday, thought it might be limited access for the visit.

Its a fine course, I played it last year, 120 euro after 5pm isnt a bad price, I think I paid 60 when I was there.

Might pop up and say hello to the big guy 😎

Has owned Doonbeg for almost 10 years and has yet to make a single solitary cent in post tax profit.

Ah yeah, help fund the grift.

It's fine land, been out to that beach/village many a time but I'd discourage anyone to fund via fungibility, his unethical practices. It's actually not much different in scope to people's misgivings about the Saudi Arabian LIV golf tour. Especially when both entities are in bed together. How many future beheadings does your donation and tacit support provide for 120 euro?

    Its only 120 after 5pm, its 250 before 5pm tomorrow and 300 on Fri-Sun.

Very steep prices, its obviously geared to getting the wealthy Americans over to play, not many Irish people will stump up that sort of dough.

I thought the place would be very stuffy but the staff were actually very friendly and pretty laid back and no we didnt talk politics.

Trump v Farage interview now on GB News, for anyone interested.

Should be interesting, given all the latest developments.

Why would anyone need to watch it??

Trump has been saying exactly the same thing for years.

    "Stolen Election"

    "Russia Hoax"

    "Radical left destroying America"

" I will fix all the things that I said I'd fix in 2016 and 2020 but never actually did , but I pinky promise I'll do it this time"

Besides it'll be probably hard to hear Trump over the slurping sounds from Farage (it's those teeth you see..)

And those criticising Trump, often baselessly and brimming with hysteria, have been saying exactly the same thing for years.

But apparently there are lots of legitimate criticisms of Trump. You said so yourself.

And claimed to have done so yourself

Just were unable to point to any actual instances of this.

Still waiting to hear them them or point to an earlier post.

Or was that a baseless claim?

Why would I bother spraying around my objective criticisms of Donald Trump to an entire thread dedicated toward absolute, undying hatred of the man!?

I'm not going to throw verbal food to the TDS cause.

Perhaps if you and others invested time discussing some of the advantages of a Donald Trump administration - which not one person has done - then I'll also contribute my criticisms of Trump.

At least I've admitted to having criticisms. Nobody on this thread has the confidence to discuss the positives that came from that administration.

And no matter what way you cut it, every administration has positives and negatives.

Some loo la on the news earlier has travelled from Dublin to Doonbeg to greet Trump, complete with a “Take America Back” banner (a better slogan than Trump has managed for himself incidentally). When asked what he’d say to Trump if he met him, his answer was “that I love him.“

    Holy Cow !!!

The reason why we are still discussing Trump is the manner is his conduct in losing the election dwarfs any positives that could be gleamed from his administration - there were negatives to. It is not the legacy of his administration that is in dispute primarily. His conduct represents a threat to democracy itself.

He is before the courts on multiple charges.

This is not business as usual.

So when it comes to that conduct the balance sheet is entirely negative and entirely legitimate to criticise him without reservation for that.

So you are self evidently still incapable of pointing out any of these criticisms you are supposed to have.

Yet you said it was well established on this forum. It was your claim, you ate the one who made it, the onus is on you to support it. Thats why you would bother.

But the posts are nowhere to be seen.

    Zero evidence available or provided.

Your claim has no credibility, and the more you refuse to back it up it becomes obvious it was false, without merit or foundation. A self serving position adopted to dispute a post and no basis in truth.

Now contradicting your earlier post you say you wont divulge these criticisms.

Then how could such criticism be well established?

Were you lying then or lying now?

You are hoist on your own petard.

Can you suggest any positive elements - in policy terms, for example - of Donald Trump's first administration, though?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,533 ✭✭✭✭odyssey06

    Operation warp speed.

But really as noted above his administration is irrelevent. His actions in losing the last election show he is a threat to democracy itself in the US.

And still you havent provided a single post / citation to justify your remark wrt well established criticisms of Trump.

Now contradicting your earlier post you say you wont divulge these criticisms.

Then how could such criticism be well established? Where are the posts?

I have checked your (brief) posting history and I dont see them.

You are hoist on your own petard. Your own words contradict each other.

You have been asked multiple times for them now. The obvious explanation is they dont exist and you were making them up.

    Policy?

He had none, beyond tax cuts for the wealthy he delivered absolutely nothing.

He made the trade deficit wider despite making a big deal about how he was going to wipe it out.

He destroyed decades of Global soft power by **** on allies and sucking up to dictators

Border crossings actually went up during his tenure when you exclude the covid timeframe when nobody was going anywhere, again despite making immigration a central plank of his tenure.

He did nothing on Healthcare, again despite telling everyone it would be easy to fix.

And don't get me started on the laughing stock that was " Infrastructure week"

You are the one claiming that there were good things that he did, so please enlighten us all on what we've obviously missed.

    ...he delivered absolutely nothing.

    I rest my case.

Look, we're not dealing with anything close to an objective assessment of Donald Trump's administration here, let alone the policies he would wish to pursue in any prospective future administration.

It's just pure hate, moulded and fashioned as if it were something non-partisan. Which of course it isn't.

For contrast, I can think of many positive elements of the incumbent's administration, even though I'm no fan of the administration, nor have I ever supported it.

A blinding fog of bias has desperately descended on those claiming to be objective about Donald Trump.

    "Operation Warp speed"

Actually , I'll give him that one but then he made such a catastrophic balls up of everything else Covid related that it almost didn't matter.

Also, the first vaccines came from companies that didn't engage with Warp Speed and the UK got one in a similar timeframe so it's hard to know if it really made a real difference, but at least he was trying to do the right thing.

And yet you've failed to provide a single example of these positives from the Trump admin or indeed the things you like that Biden had done .

Apparently they are all "obvious" and "self-evident" but you can't even put forward one...
