The stage was designed by an outside company. Why would they potentially destroy their reputation?

    This uproar is false news

you mean CPAC had no control or input into the design? do you have a source for that?

So when told that it is an exact copy of Nazi symbols the appropriate response to that if you want to ensure that absolutely nobody thinks that you approve of such things is...what... ?

Any other organisation would have been along overnight with a saw or a couple of extra blocks or some spare canvas tarpaulins and modified the shape... Unless it was entirely intentional in which case you leave it as is and stick your fingers in your ears.

why do the right thing, when you can double down and then complain about "cancel culture"?

In fairness, its possible the CPAC event organisers did Nazi the finished stage design before signing off on it, they were probably told it was designed to annoy the libs so they just signed off without looking...maybe!?;):pac:

Just to add...I find dit rather difficult to believe that nobody within CPAC, Trumps circle, the Republicans or whoever did not realise that the stage design was a fookin Nazi symbol!!

The same people that think CPAC intentionally designed the stage as a Nazi symbol probably still consider milk racist.

you think it was just accidentally designed that way and nobody noticed that it was identical to an odal rune?

If it wasn't intentional then where is the statement along the lines of "oops, we screwed that up, totally didn't realise that symbol was what the stage looked like, we have absolutely no connection with any Nazi groups or ideology and oppose it in all ways"?

Maybe it was an accident, but seems to be an accident they are perfectly happy to be associated with in that case which isn't any better that if it was intentional.

The stage's design was created by a firm called Design Foundry and approved for CPAC use by the American Conservative Union.
The firm said it was unaware that the design resembled any symbol, nor did it intend to create a design that did.

Btw guys, is milk still racist?

your snopes link is the not the silver bullet you think it is. For some reason it doesn't even say that the shape of the stage was identical to an odal. It says several times that it is only similar, which is complete bollix.

Several options were presented but the Nazi symbol was the one selected by CPAC. Plausible deniability is the phrase applicable here.

I'd love to see the brief given to Design Foundry on this.
Ian Walters, communications director for CPAC, told the Forward that the design firm “provided several options for us to choose from and what we ended up with was the most workable of the options they submitted […] ACU and CPAC have no interest in promoting antisemitism from our stage, whether it’s what happens on the stage or the design of the stage itself,” he added. “It’s clear that the company we retained designed a stage that has become an unwelcome distraction. As a result, we will not be using that company’s services going forward at future events.”

Normal milk, chocolate milk, strawberry milk, banana milk, coconut milk, soya milk, oat milk?

You'll have to be a bit more specific, milk became very diversified!

What does that statement mean? How would anyone think milk is racist? Can you link to anyone saying it is.

They're very boring though. There's no whinging, no bonkers alternative facts, no utterances of lugenpresse or the english version of that word or any of the weird stuff that they had for the past few years. They're a bit too serious and professional now and that's not great for ratings.

One is an animals right group that is opposed to dairy and the other is talking about nutritional advatages and disadvantages of milk.

Neither of these articles are saying milk is racist.

They're articles about Dairy farming and nutrition respectively. Maybe read past the headlines in future.

No one is suggesting milk is racist, that's nonsensical.

I'm not naive. I know they are out to make money.

I was pi$$ed with them for giving 45 so much free airtime. The least they could do is give Biden a chance to explain his policies.

I agree with you, it's stupid. Of course it's not the product itself, that's impossible (is that what you thought I meant lol). It's the stuff surrounding milk that makes it so racist.
Diaz then argued that the federal government’s endorsement of milk as a beneficial part of the country’s diet “contributes to the problem by uncritically pushing people to drink milk, despite the potential detriment it has on non-white people’s health.”

She stated that because African-Americans do not suffer from osteoporosis, a bone disease, at the same rates as most Americans, the United States is promoting a racist agenda.

You're showing yourself that the statement "milk is racist" is a silly and gross misrepresentation of what some peoples problem is. No one thinks milk is racist. No one thinks anything about the production or industry of milk is racist. What people are pointing out is that a government unilaterally supporting and endorsing a product that is good for one race (only around 5% of white northern european descendants are lactose intolerant - the only race that is less than 50% intolerant), but very actively bad for other races (70+ % of asians are lactose intolerant, with very high intolerance amongst Black, indigenous, and latin populations too) is questionable.

I mean, it's an interesting subject, and if it's gonna be brought up it should be brought up in the context in which the argument exists, rather than rubbish like "these stage people think milk is racist".

No, soy milk is not racist. Nor is dairy milk. Or almond milk. Or oat milk. Or any kind of milk.

If you're asking, does the issue extend to soy milk, then you just need to refer back to my post above, and ask the question - is soy milk officially endorsed and encouraged by the US government, and if so, is it a good source of nutrition for all, or even most of their diverse population?
