    I would say in regards to this, Jon Snow was on Newstalk last week and his opinion of it was it was not as serious as the general media were blowing it up to be.

    That basically they were just an unruly mob that caught the security by surprise and should have been dealt with more swiftly, but nothing was ever going to come of it.
    I can't find any record of Jon Snow being interviewed by Newstalk last week, but he was interviewed by them yesterday on The Hard Shoulder. https://www.newstalk.com/news/trump-got-away-with-so-much-as-he-was-supported-by-rich-sectors-of-the-media-jon-snow-1142358

    Here is the interview in full, I have listened to it and the insurrection attempt was never even mentioned. Unless there is another interview you can point me to the existence of, I have to ask if you listened to the interview or just read about it somewhere else, and if so... where did you read what you are claiming?

    Some interesting quotes from Jon Snow during that interview, though:
    "Trump got away with so much in the United States, and largely because he was supported and appreciated by rich sectors of the media".

    "I am very relieved [to see the back of Trump] indeed, yes - I don't know if one's allowed to say that but I am. I believe he was a very malign operator".

    TheAsy- What do you think the intention of the marches, and then the rioters was on the 6th?

    And what do you think the likes of Ted Cruz were attempting to achieve?

    And what do you think was Trumps end goal with his lie about the election?

    Are the Republicans fond of the BDS movement? I only ask this because I don't recall you mentioning them.before, especially when they tried to stop BDS movements on campuses.

    I don't think either party is too fond of the BDS movement. I don't think I've posted about them before. I only raised this as an example of something that could legitimately be used to criticise the Biden administration from a policy pov.

    It may help others who are finding it difficult to come up with something other than "sleepy/creepy joe" or "dementia" variants.

    Fwiw I think its disgraceful and Biden/Harris should be rolling back on this, they should also move the US embassy back from Jerusalem.

    I have also listened to the Hard Shoulder interview with him in full, form yesterday. At no point during this interview did he mention what you claimed, nor was the Capitol insurrection attempt even brought up.

    I have also linked to the interview in full, in which he does not mention what you claimed. Here is the link again: https://www.newstalk.com/news/trump-got-away-with-so-much-as-he-was-supported-by-rich-sectors-of-the-media-jon-snow-1142358

    If it was a separate interview last week (odd that Newstalk would interview Jon Snow twice in a week, and then go through his life story on the second one without ever mentioning that he had been on a few days prior, but I'll give the benefit of the doubt), then what show or at least day was this on?

    I agree although I doubt that it will happen. The support for Israel is fairly bipartisan in the US.

    So what's the list now for Greene now?

    - QAnon and Pizzagate true believer.
    - Las Vegas shooting was a false flag operation.
    - 2017 White Supremacist Unite the Right rally was an "inside job".
    - Seth Rich was murdered by MS13 on behalf of Obama.
    - Claims no video evidence of plane hitting the pentagon on 9/11 exists, despite its existence.
    - Anti masker getting into screaming matches over not wearing a mask into Congress
    - Harrassing school shooting survivors as "actors" in false flag operations.
    - "White genocide" believer.
    - Has endorsed murdering democrat politicians for a few years now.
    - Big stop the steal/storm the Capitol supporter.
    - Wildfires are caused by secret Jewish space lasers.

    How many of the 261 Republicans in Congress have denounced her? Surely at least a few, right?
    It seems nobody has been able to identify Republicans denouncing her yet, though I might have just found out why.

    The Republican Party have appointed Marjorie Taylor Greene - Sandy Hook and Stoneman Douglas school shooting "false flag/actors" conspiracy theorist, who has harassed the survivors of these school shootings, who has supported the murder of Democrat politicians and who has claimed that wildfires are Jewish space laser attacks - to the House Committee for Education and Labor.

    That's a pretty clear endorsement of her from the same party ousting and censuring those who have criticised the terror attack of January 6th on the US government.

    These people genuinely believe that the election was won through fraud. They went to protest what they perceive to be a monumental wrongdoing, but by anyone's count it was only a very small minority that started to cause trouble. When you have a bunch of people with so much pent up anger and frustration like that you can easily imagine how in the spur of the moment they might have thought it was acceptable to gain entry to the Capitol Building. I wonder whether a full investigation of some of the more rowdy individuals would even reveal another motivation. Trump is obviously responsible for what happened to a large degree but I don't think anyone in the administration had serious designs at taking over the government of the country through force.

    Anyway, the Democrats have gotten enormous political capital out of this, the militarized inauguration, the impeachment, but really, its obvious to anyone that isn't a cheerleader for the Democrat that there was no attempted coup.

    American Jews tend to vote Democrat.

    I hope Biden can reinvigorate the "Two State" approach, which has been stalled for 20 years.

    It's the only solution.

    But it was an attempted coup, they went in there thinking they could change what was happening with the election. Just because they had zero chance of doing it or that they had no real idea of how it would happen or indeed that they were mostly morons doesn’t mean they weren’t attempting it.

    Lifted from another site
    There was an angry group gathering outside of the American building;

    Members of the group appeared fired-up and seething with contempt and pure hatred;

    Some wore clothing with distinct and clear markings;

    Most did not cover their faces;

    Some were carrying oversized flags that depicted their ideology;

    Some had firearms, many did not;

    They chanted in unison with fists raised in the air;

    They stormed the American facility with ease;

    At first, they strolled around the compound, seemingly surprised that they made it into this sacred place, and then they appeared nonchalant and arrogant;

    We saw the attackers destroying everything in sight with abandon;

    Vigorously smashing windows;

    Forcefully kicking in doors;

    Ravaging offices and rooms; and

    Some of the attackers stole items from the buildings, including laptops belonging to American officials, highly sensitive material, and souvenirs of their attack.

    That's a description on what is visible from the videos on Benghazi which Republicans claimed at the time one of the worst ever attacks on America and spent 3 years and 10 investigations looking into it.

    And more people died during Blm protests than storming of Capitol Hill and more federal Buildings destroyed more police officers killed and more innocent people and more business's destroyed.

    But the media doesn't care about those people.

    I think that at base level, for me to agree that this was a serious attempt at a coup, rather than just a protest that became messy, I would expect to see a lot more guns involved. Americans love their guns but I don't think that anyone who stormed the Capitol Building was seen with one. If they are armed then the whole picture is different and then you have your coup for sure. But they weren't.

    What do you think the purpose of them being there was?

    It was held on the 6thm the exact day of the vote. They had Senators in the building voting against the votes from states?

    Do you really think they were there just to march a bit and then go home and accept Biden as the POTUS?

    Trump certainly was pushing the line that Biden was illegitimate and that he should remain as POTUS.

    I have yet to hear a reason, apart from looking to subvert the vote, as to why always those people went there.

    • In the days leading up to the 6th, they announced on social media that they were taking part in a revolution.
    • They went to the capitol at the request and instruction of someone who had lost the most recent election.
    • They went there at the time when the results of that election were being formally accepted.
    • They went there with the purpose of inhibiting this vote acceptance process.
    • They set up a gallows outside the Capitol.
    • They used force to break in to the Capitol.
    • They violently attacked police defending the Capitol.
    • They marched through the halls chanting that they wanted to hang the person formally accepting the election results.

    It was an attempted coup. But thankfully, like everything else Trump has been involved in, it was a poor attempt and ultimately failed.

    He was not retired he was a police chief

    David Dorn, 77, was discovered on the sidewalk in front of Lee's Pawn & Jewelry in St. Louis around 2:30 a.m., said Police Commissioner John Hayden. He said Dorn, who retired from the St. Louis Police Department in 2007 and had been serving as police chief of Moline Acres, Missouri, since 2008, was killed when he apparently tried to stop the looting of the shop.

    What is the second word in the description of the article you linked to?

    Edit: Ah, you don't know the difference between a police officer and police chief, never mind.

    You say more police officers died because of the BLM protests. Even if I let you count him, you still need more. Who are the others officers that died then?

    Neither Bernie Sanders' Senate account nor his personal account show any such thing. The former even highlights a number of news stories related to the renewed push to get the Raise the Wage Act passed through Congress.

    CNN: Democrats introduce bill to raise minimum wage to $15 by 2025
    The Guardian: Bernie Sanders in new push for $15 minimum wage under Biden: 'For me, it's morally imperative'

    He also links to an article on The Hill, "Biden seeks $15 minimum wage for federal workers, contractors", to highlight the fact that the executive order the President intends to sign, which raises the minimum wage of federal employees, should be extended to all via the above Act.

    What he does warn of, quite importantly, is the approach he feels may be necessary in order to pass this legislation given the historic objection to it by the GOP.

    It’s spine-chilling to hear activists in Portland cheering about the cold-blooded murder of a Trump supporter Saturday night.

    “I am not sad that a f–king fascist died tonight,” a woman shouts into a megaphone at a BLM-Antifa gathering after a man was shot dead nearby.

    “He was a f–king Nazi. Our community held its own and took out the trash.”

    Videos posted by independent journalists Andy Ngo and Ian Miles Cheong show an American flag being burned in celebration as the crowd revels in the news.

    Online video appears to show the murder. You can hear a man’s voice: “We got a couple right here.” And then two shots ring out.
