You seem confused about what misogyny actually is.

It's gonna be a bloodbath for the Democrats in the midterms.

They've spent the last few months watering down the Build Back Better bill at the behest of Joe Manchin and now Manchin is still not going to vote for it.

The real problem is that Biden was never that interested in it. He didn't believe in it nor did the majority of Democrats. Had they truly believed in it they'd have fought for it and made Manchin's life miserable. They'd have bombarded the airways with the benefits of the bill and how it would improve the lives of Americans. They'd have also bombarded the airways with evidence of Manchin's corruption.

There'll be plenty of Democrats sending Manchin a card and bottle of Redbreast 27 for Christmas, thanking him for being their voice.

Some parts of the bill were spun off already, the infrastructure bill, and received bi-partisan support to the tune of 1.2$Trillion.

What's holding up the Build Back Better plan? My guess it's far too focused on 'climate justice'. It would have received the support for the welfare elements, especially concerning covid. Why didn't they propose the Green New Deal elements in a separate bill now that they have the votes to do it? I feel for those people relying on the welfare elements during this pandemic.

I agree many democrats are secretely relieved that Manchin is taking the bullet here. Many mightn't get re-elected putting their name publicly to such a bill.

Let's see if Schumer follows through on his promise to hold a vote anyway, I doubt it, but will be interesting to see what happens. It's kind of like the teacher who punishes the whole class because one student was bold.

The lack of intelligence is astonishing at times.

All you have to do is look at who all the unvaccinated align themselves to and apportion the blame after that.

25 per 100k covid deaths in counties that voted for Trump compared to 7.8 per 100k in counties that voted Biden.

Blame Trump and the Republicans for the majority of those deaths.

Insane to blame Biden for them. theguardian.com/us-news/2021/dec/17/counties-voted-trump-higher-covid-death-rate

This is quiet a good example of how Bidens press conferences have a combative derisory tone.

A sarcastic response given and then a few weeks later that's what they end up doing. It doesn't encourage the idea that it's a unifying administration, it's their way or the highway (similar to Trump)

Psaki has a very condescending manner.

Trumps press team were constantly derided for this sort of behaviour but the media yet again give this administration a free pass.

Further proof of how everything was spun in a negative manner with Trump but for Biden its spun in a positive manner. Two sides of the same coin.

    Propaganda 101.

Condescending, compared to Stephanie Grisham's press conferences? I didn't hear you objecting to tone then! Or SHS of the 'I'll get back to you never' style of conferencing.

FFS. Excellent conferences, very professional. Welcome breath of fresh air.

The Trump team were derided for constantly lying and saying up was down.

Making up a Biden Admin issue - check!

Alleging everyone is annoyed at it - check!

Blame the media for giving Dems a pass - check!

Say that Biden is as bad as Trump - check!

  • Registered Users Posts: 38,215 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

If Trump had stopped lying and also stopped with his fake news mantra I'm sure he wouldn't have got the same treatment.

He asked for it, thought he was smarter than everybody, and paid the price for bring such a dumbass.

Biden isn't up there lying his teeth out or calling every story that doesn't fully support him fake news.

    That's the difference.

It doesn't encourage the idea that it's a unifying administration

Nor should it. There is zero coming from Conservatives in terms of being open to unification or appeasement. Several of them have actively campaigned at home showcasing the benefits of Bidens Bills while voting against them being passed.

You have conservative sitting representatives under active investigation for trying to prevent Biden being duly processed so as to be President, you have them going to CPAC and other conferences where they actively talk about not only being combative towards his ideas, but they and their media wing (Fox News) are actively talking about physical aggression as a form of opposition. Not to mention their continued efforts to undermine the electoral process.

I wish the Democrats had a See You Next Tuesday who was able to call the conservatives as they see it just so that people would realise that they were actually aware of what the Republicans are actually up to.

Biden isn't up there lying his teeth out or calling every story that doesn't fully support him fake news.

Trump may have lied and he is a narcissist but at least he made himself available to answer questions.

Biden has continuously avoided answering questions with his infrequent highly stage managed press conferences.

When he does "press conferences" its with pre-chosen reporters for whom Biden knows the questions already, and has pre-printed cards with the answers.

He has done a dozen one-on-ones with media outlets, compared to 50 for Trump and 100 for Barack Obama nine months into their terms.

If Biden can speak effectively about his policies then he should.

However the underlying concern is that, in fact, he can't speak effectively in a spontaneous way.

Perhaps his policies aren't really his. Rather, they come from staff, activists, etc. Biden gets a script to support that.

He cant be left speak off the cuff.

Why are we talking about trump when manchin is the man of the hour?

  • Registered Users Posts: 14,702 ✭✭✭✭MisterAnarchy

There was no need for me to object as you and your cohorts were already doing it on a daily basis.

No point in me repeating what others say.

Everybody know that Biden makes lots of gaffes. That's why they are being careful and it's perfectly understandable to try and manage that.

And yes it's that simple. You seem to be in conspiracy theory mode all the time though looking for deep, dark agendas etc.

Standing around spouting nonsense abs avoiding questions is not making “yourself available to answer”. It was grandstanding for his base.

Is that why #2xIMPOTUS stood in front of a helicopter? To more easily hear questions?

So, no complaints about the Grisham conferences. Thanks.

Imagine the two top officials in charge of vaccines at the FDA had resigned in anger over Trump's planned booster rollet. You'd never have heard the end of it. Trump is anti-science etc.. etc..

Yet that's exactly what Dr. Marion Gruber and Dr. Phillip Krause have done under Biden's leadership. The pair had been working there for decades and were upset with Biden administration's booster-shot plan. They felt the CDC were making vaccine decisions that should have been left to the FDA. The final straw was Biden announcing the booster-shot plan before the FDA had officially signed off on it.

Dr. Gruber can now be found writing articles for the the Washington Post such as 'We don't need universal booster shots"

A subtle difference which you have alluded to yourself.

The CDC approved it, and Biden went with that. There's no suggestion Biden directed them to do so or anything similar.

We saw the last guy and how he tried to give medical direction while not following the advice of medical guidance, that is why people rightly ripped him to shreds for doing so.

In fairness to the FDA folks, it is the FDA's department, not the CDC's. There's a reason why the government did not issue mandates for federal workers until after the FDA had given full approval for the vaccines, no matter what the CDC had to say on the matter. I can see why they might be a bit miffed.

December 10th ABC news: "Crucially, the CDC hasn't identified any concerns with the temporary heart inflammation known as myocarditis, a potential side effect of mRNA vaccines seen in rare circumstances in teenagers and young adults." That was from the director of the CDC.

This is from a report by the CDC themselves released on December 13th.

Reports of myocarditis to VAERS among children ages 5–11 years (n=10) (as of Dec 10, 2021)

     Doses administered = 7,141,428 (as of Dec 9, 2021)

 3,233 reports to VAERS among children ages 5–11 years

    • 14 reports of myocarditis

    • 5 reports; follow up in progress

    • 9 reports with follow up information obtained

8 reports met CDC working case definition for myocarditis

(That's the CDC's own bolding and can be found on page 19 here). Remember this is the early stages in an ongoing programme that just observes any problems with the vaccines(VAERS). Presumably this number will rise over time.

Many organizations and indeed the public have lost faith in the increasingly political CDC.

Nothing contradictory there. You need to understand what 'concerns' means. The CT'ers waving 'myocarditis! myocarditis!,' probably one of the few multisyllabic words they can pronounce, miss the fact that the inflammation in the vast majority of cases, is mild. So, of no concern.

And, Covid-19 is something like 16x higher versus no Covid-19

The risk of the condition is around 16 times higher in Covid-19 patients than in the uninfected, with inpatient visits for myocarditis 42% higher last year compared with 2019. In addition, the risk of myocarditis is 37 times higher for children with Covid-19 than in their uninfected peers. These rates indicate that the small risks of myocarditis from vaccination are still outweighed by the risks of Covid-19.

Are there people here holding the FDA up as a paragon of virtue? If so then maybe you need to read up on the opioid epidemic and their involvement.
