Same can be said about leaders of all countries where the numbers have increased. Can we blame our leaders for the massive spike in cases across Europe?

    Yes we can.

Absolutely ridiculous we exited lock down in Ireland to 'save Christmas'.

FF have to take large blame for current numbers.
Covid is not something to be controlled. I suppose Biden could lockdown the country down until numbers start to drop. Plus he has the added advantage of there being vaccines now

Yet covid is under control in south east Asia, China, Korea, Japan (mostly), Australia and New Zealand.

Yeah. Be prepared for them to be suddenly very interested in the Covid numbers, the national debt and deficits.

The next 2 months will be critical and will define the presidency.
Today's speech will need to lay out the response to covid and economic recovery. I just hope it doesn't descend into cheeseball clichés, because the task confronting the US is immense.

Agree to a point. An angry mob but not an organised insurrection There seemed nothing organised. That guy in the hat.... although in fairness the guy beside the poor woman who was shot seemed literate.

Dunno where you heard that. The charges against several of them are specifically for conspiracy, the planning and organising charge. And the woman who was shot was a former Capitol riot response officer.

Really proud today for Ireland. Fanatastic to have such an "Irish" president in the white House. Lovely listening to his relations on the radio today talking about the pride they have. Amazing really that 2 of the last 3 Presidents were of Irish heritage...

The democrats blocked troop withdrawals, they now seem more pro war and have a huge grudge against Russia and it's satellites.

Under Obama they armed the moderate Syrian rebels and somehow those weapons got to Isis, etc

Trump didn't seem to see the financial merits in war whereas the democrats are well meaning crusaders that do huge damage.. they'd be a lot better addressing why they have the highest incarceration rate in the world than conducting wars around the world.

Read left wing Pulitzer prize winning journalist Glenn Greenwald who broke the Snowden story for in depth analysis of the war problem in the democrat party.

The democrats inherited wars started by the Republicans. They didn't start any.

Trump dropped more bombs than Bush or Obama in one term.

And Trump pulled out troops from Syria that were there to stabilize the region and left their allies to be massacred and allowed ISIS members to be released from prison.

The Democrats are no saints but this narrative that Trump and the Republicans are better is utter nonsense.

Yeah I saw that. It's pathetic really. Joe Biden has a fancy exercise bike and it's a scandal - didn't take long for the media to pivot back to their old nonsense.

  • Registered Users Posts: 13,445 ✭✭✭✭Igotadose

Thank goodness he does. It'll keep him healthy - him teasing the VP announcement with that Foxdroid while Biden was riding his bike was great.

He can walk down ramps and drink water and everything.

Kamala was backed by the centre for new American security byt Michelle flournoy wasn't picked as defense secretary which is interesting...

They're filling DC with troops for the inauguration.

I had the opinion the Biden's team might start a few wars internationally but would be better domestically. I'm shocked how the 'insurrection' stuff is being taken seriously. Very disappointing.

Biden's 94 crime Bill has caused so much damage and Kamala seems to stand only for her love of power, acceptance and money.

They may well be worse than Trump but I hope they'll be better.

Kamala Harris is atrocious, but they won't be worse then Trump, who loved power to.

Joe's military lockdown inauguration looks far more like a fascist state than anything under Trump.

The nature of the inauguration is because of Trump and his idiotic antics. Not long now and he can feck off into oblivion hopefully never to be seen or heard of again.

We've had four years of visceral hate and vile things said about Trump on this website, yet when it comes to Biden you will be banned for saying anything negative (as per the instructions in the first post of this thread)

    Help me understand the hypocrisy?

Because the stuff said about Trump was true. The stuff you said is a petty lie.

Something that Trump can rightfully claim full credit for creating.

But that does now raise the question of if this was all just so that Trump could get a minion to post a tweet later on today about how he had a bigger crowd at his inauguration than Biden. Was that actually the long game that Trump has been playing?

That's because the MAGA brigade attempted a coup.

Not especially strange that a country which is only a couple of hundred years old and populated by people who are descended mostly from immigrants from Europe that a large number of them will have some Irish somewhere in the distant reaches of their family tree.

Would be stranger if there wasn't a link back to Ireland.

It's more of a rhetorical question, the answer is obvious.

I mean, there is no possible reading of the OP that could lead one to this conclusion.

There is if you pretend that words have alternative meanings that suit your narrative.

And why do you think there is a military lockdown inauguration? Why do these measures need to be in place?
