Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Build or buy- young person

    So before I even ask I know that there's gonna be no correct answer to this question, it's only a matter of opinion (well that's what I think anyway :P

    Which would be better- to build (self- build) or buy and renovate? Financial, looking to the future, etc...

    So to add some context I'll add in a bit of a background to (possibly) narrow down the brief.

    A young(ish) person - i.e. no real panic to move in or to complete it in a rush;
    Decent level of construction knowledge- mainly carpentry & CAD, limited knowledge on other areas (like everyone else);
    First time buyer;
    As a young person which would be more beneficial: Buy, renovate, rent; buy, renovate, sell; build; sell... Etc..
    Just as a ball part figure we'll say a budget of roughly 250- 300k;
    As regards location, Midlands area.

    Now I know there is no one answer to this so just looking for various opinions, will probably end up being a debate but we'll see how it goes.

    Thanks, look forward to hearing different views.
