USA investments CGT - Tax

    Hi,

I have some investments in a USA broker, normally I send money via Exchange, so I know about the CGT rules, what is confusing for me is when should I calculate the tax?

e.g: Sent 10k, made 5k through last year, total 15k
should I pay tax only if I bring the money back to Ireland? If so should I deduce any loss with the current currency(I guess this is right)?

    Thank you,
    Adriano.
