Of the 31 zero were hospitalised. Why do you think this is not because of their vaccination program? Are you just anti-vax?

So in other words, 31 people vaccinated still ended up in the hospital with the virus. Unless of course, you believe all 163,000 Israelis vaccinated by Maccabi Healthcare Services were exposed to the virus?

Wieler: "The more we vaccinate, the more variants will appear"

RKI boss Wieler speaks about the virus mutants. More will emerge than those currently known, he says. "The more we vaccinate, the more mutations we will have." It is important to find these mutations using new tests. When it comes to sequencing, however, it is important that targeted searches are rather than mass searches

Hearing on the radio about how some health workers are refusing to take the vaccine.simple choice. No Jab,No Job.the country has tied itself to the ground to protect the health services so its now Payback time.I’m 1000% pro vaccines

They're compromising the safety of the people they're working with. Selfish thicks.

Portugal are in perhaps the worst shape of any European country so far in this pandemic.
Twice our population, but over three times the number of hospitalised compared with our peak, and growing at a terrifying rate.
Their cases are still rising, so this has some way to go yet.

As bad as things are all over the EU, we should probably be doing more to help them.

It's voluntary as has been repeated ad nauseum and really it's up to the health authorities to encourage enough to take it. Polls suggest 75%+ will take it and that's good enough. The HSE have been pleased with the vaccine uptake level so far.

I don't need to, it went through all the relevant trials as with any other vaccine.

All vaccines have long term trials, Covid 19 Vaccinations didn't, then the governments around the world removed any legal responsibilities from the vaccine companies.,

Meanwhile in the USA, many people having adverse effects.

So much so the CDC is cataloging them,

Surely there will have to be monitoring or restrictions on health staff who refuse a vaccine

As pointed out they are a risk to other staff and patients

Yeah, there is this idea that the virus is not under pressure at present to mutate as we're not blocking it. There's also a belief that it will become milder like other coronaviruses. We may end up like flu', with annual jabs for some.

The CDC site which uses the word 'unverified' when speaking of side affects
So you don't feel the vaccine is safe, what's your alternative?

Health experts warn new COVID mutations could prolong the pandemic for another year - as South African super-COVID variant that could be vaccine-resistant is discovered in South Carolina

Uptakes of flu' vaccines are typically very low in HCWs anyway. It's a choice , like every vaccine.

Agree with everything bar that last paragraph. That seems overly harsh and presumptive.
I can appreciate why it seems like that.

But I have very little tolerance for anti-vaxxers at this stage.
I can appreciate people who may not feel sufficiently informed, but a blanket refusal to get a vaccine can only mean they're unwilling to seek out information, or unwilling to listen to information that contradicts their decision.

And in my experience, these people are disruptive low-performers in the workplace. They engage in patterns of willing ignorance and delusional self-confidence.

Based on what criteria are they are risk?

The Vaccines haven't been tested against transmission of the virus - hopefully they will prove to prevent transmission but at the moment we don't know.

what if they had Covid and have extremely high antibodies...

The words that stick out for me are 'could' and 'if'.

That's a complete strawman though about the type of people that won't take them.- people should still have the right to determine if they take a vaccines or not. thats always been the case and should remain the case.

Zero were hospitalised, its right there in what you quoted. All the data from Israel on vaccinations is positive, whats your problem with actual data and facts? Do you think vague feelings of unease trump science?

Moderna and AZ have tested for B.1.351 and it still protects. Not sure about Pfizer but it most probably will. mRNA vaccines can be modified vey quickly and AZ are working on new versions.

Some media outlets need to be held accountable for publishing scare-mongering misinformation.

"Health experts" who are these health experts? Have these "findings" been peer-reviewed, double blind tested, published in a scientific journal? Or are they just speculating on a potential result of on-going research?

I agree with your scare mongering point and that some of the headlines associated with commentary on new variants is overblown, however you don't wait for the insurance assessor when the house is on fire

These variants are like heroin for the scaremongering posters who clearly want this to drag. The same kind of posters that said vaccines wouldn’t be possible 6 months ago.
