I could tell you stories about millions upon millions that’s wasted in the HSE. Stories so ridiculous and costly that you probably would not believe them.

If you think for a second the HSE is a competent organization your just simply wrong.

There is very little wrong with the quantity of funding the HSE receive, the problems lie with how it is used.

I believe you about there being waste. I had to write an assignment about PPARS debacle. Its about 7 years since I did it, but my recollection is that the HSE was in fact a wrapper put around the existing regional health boards, which were so arcane that it was well nigh impossible to figure who was responsible for what in each little fiefdom...... which made implementation of PPARS a nightmare. Putting it out to private firms with get out clauses for the supplier didn't help.

But.... the people who individually are making things happen at all levels of the organisation during this pandemic are - in my opinion - doing lots with a poor kit of tools.

I agree that the HSE needs proper reform, but condemning them all now is not really fair.

The management and consultants or certainly a lot of them are some of the worst examples of medical professionals or any professionals on the face of the earth..

It needs serious reform, not especially from my experience of inpatient care aside from towards the very end which was down to a fûcking moron of a consultant withdrawing physiotherapy and my gym access, but certainly outpatient rehabilitative care and physical therapy is seriously lacking...

If you are in a car, plane, tugboat crash, you might get into the NRH or Doolaghs Park, if it’s ‘illness’ forget it....

I needed hydrotherapy yet the fûcking physical rehabilitation specialist in the mater claimed he was unaware there was a hydrotherapy pool, accessible to outpatients, in the very same hospital where he worked.. we are paying this gob****e about 100,000 plus minimum of public money. Yet he is either lying to his patients or on his travels around the Mater, misses seeing a big fûcking hydrotherapy pool about half the size of a football pitch, that is perfect for helping and DESIGNED and BUILT to help his patients...

I sourced this help privately, I can now run again...
