Good result from Sarah Healy. Is there any chance she could make the Olympics?

Any update on Phil Healy? I'm very interested to see if she can improve on her recent 51:50 PB.

She ran the 2, came off the bend ok, but looked to have faded in the run-in, or the runners around her were stronger.

    23.65 i think for phil

I'd be suprised if Sarah Healy doesn't get a Q. She needs to get into the right race and be brave. I think she will be even better over 5 and 10k in a few yrs time

Can’t see Healy getting the time she’d need to drop more than 3 seconds in a couple of weeks

She’s know just inside the rankings though and another good performance might secure that for her

Didn't see the race unfortunately due to work.

He wouldn't be to happy with that result certainly looking to be the other side of 13.30

Yeah I'd say he's disappointed, judging by his earlier comments after Gateshead. He didn't get after the pace early on which was a mistake. But these things happen and I'd be surprised if he didn't hit 13.20-13.25 before the season's over. Hopefully 13.20ish will be enough to make the Olympics by the quota route.

They were string out from the start with two Swedish pace markers.

Tobin big PB last week with the high 3:33. Then 3:36. Probably need another block of training to go below 3:30.

Yeah. I was thinking that too. It’s a big ask for her to run 4:04:20 in the next few weeks. Hopefully, she gets in on the quota.

Phil Healy is running the 400m in Hengelo at the weekend. It should be a good race with top class competition like Klaver and Mbongo. Would love to see her secure the Olympic standard.

I feel like Phil has the potential to threaten the national 400m record if she continues to improve.

Yeah big pb last week, but it could be argued that he was well capable of running faster the his previous one, based if his limited 5000m experience and indeed he has only ran a handful of them.
In his own words, he closed a few gaps earlier in the race and was flat in the last 600m, and was hoping to get pulled along last night.

Also just to add, he was on the treatment table twice between Thursday and Monday for small issues and all over tight muscles.

Anyway hopefully we'll see more to come from him in the next few weeks.

He is listed to pace the A race tomorrow in European Cup 10000m.
Pace is being set for 27:20 finish, inside OQ.

The Irish team of four will go in the B race beforehand.

Delighted for her that she's getting a shot, realistically it will be hard for her to get another chance.

30.11 for Michael Power in the B race, looked spent with a lap to go. I had him at a 90 sec last lap.
Not a positive experience for him unfortunately

Being paced by Sean Tobin! I wonder can Mo get the standard? Is it bad if I'm hoping he misses? :o

What was the story with the two lads who started 're-pacing' him with about 1km to go?

I wonder was that kinda planned. He came up to lap them and they really responded and he slipped in behind them for a lap or so. I thought he was just so b@lloxed that he couldn't pass them, but I'm not so sure.

Mo will surely call it a day soon, no?
