Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Dry January or Veganuary didn't really appeal to me but I'm now getting restless and would like to jump on a bandwagon for February.
If you've found an online programme/challenge on FB/Insta I'd love to hear it.
Are you taking up one and if so what is it?
Something related to improving health and fitness, overall wellness etc.

Lent starts in two weeks if you're looking for a challenge? :D

Yeah, I'm doing the biggest challenge of my life, its called: "Get through February without killing someone or myself, or going insane while locked down challenge"
I know the title isn't very snappy but the struggle is real...

I’m giving up Boards. I really need to cut down the time I spend online, it’s not good for me. I gave up Facebook for January thinking I’d last a week but I stuck it out and won’t be going back so hopefully a month without boards will do the same.

I don't do any of these so-called "challenges", they're all bull.

Death has this much to be said for it:
You don’t have to get out of bed for it.
    Wherever you happen to be
    They bring it to you—free.

Ah, ‘The Bull Challenge”. Best of luck. I don’t think you’d last long avoiding any but I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you.

Isn't surviving a pandemic, keeping my job and trying to home school my children enough of a challenge?!

    Nice one to do.

I'm not into sponsorship etc, but I might set myself the challenge and then make my own donation. I've no dog either.

What kind of thing are you thinking about? Are you thinking of eliminating something like alcohol or adding something like exercise?

I think lots of people do something in January because it’s a new begin means just after Christmas. There’s probably much less social push for February.

But this is always a good one. Adriene’s 30days of yoga.

There will always be loads of people who will chip in to say how much they disagree wil doing dry January because it’s bullsh1t (one poster even took exception to it because it’s a relatively new tradition).

But the fact is we’re a social species and we like doing things in groups with a bit of encouragement and social support, even if it’s just an online group. The people who complain about others doing something with social support are basically signalling how independent they are and how they think they aren’t influenced by social support. And that actually reveals a shocking lack of self awareness.

OP, if you’re looking for a group for a bit of self discipline through February, then I hope you find it. Best of luck.

My February challenge is the same as any other month challenge.
Make ends meet, be a good family man, look out for friends and neighbours, work hard and party hard :D

Run 100k on Strava. Probably won't make it, but worth a shot. I managed it in November. The 2 extra days certainly helped my chances then

I've incorporated a checking routine in to my life every day of this month. I take 5 minutes at the end of the day to check my privilege and reflect on any instances where I may have diminished someone else's experience or not been a good enough ally. Doing it for the month of February, but I may keep it up afterwards.

I'm doing the same. But as a straight, white man, I don't have any privilege, so it only takes thirty seconds. I spend the other four-and-a-half minutes crying and masturbating.

Well Adriene from the yoga challenge linked looks very nice and well intended but seeing as I can’t even sit like that with both heels aligned and my fat a*** lifted off the floor that’s a challenge too far for me before it even begins.

Trying hard not to go insane with the neighbours kids screaming and skipping and playing upstairs basketball on the hardwood floors will be challenge enough.

O - and trying to walk 5k every day outside - to stretch my eyes and stop the above.

I might set up a new email account to fire off emails to every govt dept official and quango that annoys me and delivers aBysmal non service too - that should keep me very busy and therefore be a typing challenge. .

Could you not have done it a few months ago and called it “Woketober”? It would’ve looked great on Twitter.
