Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back a page or two to re-sync the thread and this will then show latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Baffles me how westmeath wasn't included in that warning...

So “beast from the east 2.0” now has potential for 2-5cm of snow... Sensationalist headlines strike again.

Still snowing here in saggart but barely sticking at all.

That's probably your issue though for reading and choosing to believe those sensationalist headlines from the Mirror, Sun and other click hungry sites.
I haven't seen too many outside those sort of sites reference a BFTE

    MT

Certainly some similarity to the dynamics of the Jan 1982 snowfall event in play here.

Ah jaysus I’m all over the place now. I don’t know whether to be reading threads, looking out the window at lampposts, refreshing radar data, getting upset about an Easterly that hasn’t brought snow, wondering whether tomorrow might bring the odd streamer or getting super excited about possible snow event from Thurs. Now GL of all people has suggested the possibility of 24hrs continuous snow later in the week & MT mentions 24-36 hour event in the same post as possible comparison to 1982 set-up. But then that could all go pear shaped by the morning & everyone’s upset with everyone again. I need some sleep!!!

Snow from now on will be more likely to settle. Temperatures generally have another degree or so to fall before sunrise.

A very cold day tomorrow with temperatures generally 0 to 2c. Snow more likely to settle with time.

Snow showers on and off in the east and parts of the south for the rest of the night. Some pushing well inland.

    Night all.

Love the Scottish accent. Those who speak it always sound like they are just about going to nut you one.

Edinburgh accent a lot "softer" than a Glaswegian one :P

Temperatures could fall that low over some higher ground areas like mountains. This is most likely what it's picking up as them areas do have alot of mountains.

A low temperature warning may be issued for Tuesday night and Wednesday morning for Ireland as temperatures could drop to -6C or -7C locally in parts of the northwest, west and southwest.
