You're down the road from me but same here, just that dusty stuff. It's mad seeing it blowing literally sideways when the gusts pick up though.

Another D.13 head here (Clare Hall), it's unimpressive stuff alright. The Least from The East!

Cold, easterly wind in Cork City, around 1.4 degrees. Looking at netweather it looks like theres showers north of the city and south of the city, with the City in its own little path of nothing but grey cloud

Tiny bits floating around in the wind, we need a good snow shower.

Very very light flurry of small snowflakes in North co. Cork (near Mallow)

Dusting on the roofs but all the ground is wet in Dublin 13. I've definitely seen more from a northwesterly, very poor.

Clear and calm all night here and recorded -2. Would usually record -3 to -5 on a average winters night that remains clear and calm throughout.

Full snow now, very light. Seems to be melting and evaporating, ground still dry. Starting to stick to the grass.

Very light snow in west Galway. The flakes are falling so slowly that I could nearly catch them.

What are they doing in the Hyacinth House?

I see Dublin, Kildare and Wicklow all removed from the warning. Still looking good here in Cavan for a few more showers.

    Thursday afternoon I think

Latest guidance is that the front may stall before or close to Dublin. Very much keeping an eye out the window situation.

A teaser winter as you said before.

Offshore West Mayo; bare of any precipitation and a bitter biting chill.

I have home- made chicken soup simmering to add some heat from the cooker. Chilled to the very marrow .

    Brighter sky than of late.

Its a big downgrade from significant snowfall. Snow quickly turning to rain on Thursday night is crap too. I am blaming JS for this!

it's been snowing/graupelling since I woke up at 8 but with no additional accumulations, only roof dustings and patchy grass dustings.

I think my snow enthusiasm is well enough known at this stage so I'm not trying to be controversial when I say this part of the event (being the 3 days or so of potential streamers) is looking a bust right now. Cork will always be hit or miss for streamers (though annoyingly we have had some class of falling wintery precipitation for much of the last 30 hours without it sticking) but the lack of Wexford to Antrim east coasters posting pics of roads and gardens covered in snow is a real let down at this stage and hard to see it turning around (would obviously love to be proved wrong). In fairness one or two of our experts did warn that precipitation would not be what we hoped from this set up and that has proved right. Fair dues to them (bastards!).

Thursday might yet deliver for many for a while, but the likelihood that rain is going to wash it all away hours later does seriously affect one's enthusiasm for that part of the event.

Sorry for being so depressing. At least there is (tries to think of anything else positive about the world right now......pubs, restaurants, summer holidays, mid term breaks, ski holidays, socialising generally, the Six Nations) em, Liverpool to laugh at (best I could do).

It’s only a downgrade if you are in the parts of the country where it’s to turn back to rain. Met Éireann are saying it’s snow for north, east and midlands. I would like to think they have access to info we might not have. I agree though if you are based in the south or south west it doesn’t look good. Who knows though, maybe even the south will see snow. There is so much chopping and changing among the models

Thursday front is a bit of gymnast the way it manages to avoid Cavan. IMO That warning will be modified tomorrow geographically.

It's rubbish. All this waiting for that? MT's 10 to 20cms is far more appealing but maybe a tad optimistic. This is being downgraded by the day.

Could be worse i live on the coast in west Cork where Thursday may even start as rain and support Liverpool.

5cm is not worth warning about.
Much Ado about nothing. But if anyone really surprised. The whole country over-reacts on a regular basis.

Far too many weather alerts. When I was younger it was much worse but we just got on with it.

Honestly I'll still take 5cm over nothing!

Much the same here as other posters have mentioned, near constant showers but only sticking in sheltered spots - wind is too strong here at the moment for it to do much else

5cm is not to be sniffed at in Ireland and also, people need to be extra careful these days for obvious reasons.

Also "slightly" milder air ALREADY in the Southwest.

After Thursday it could be game over

Yes, there is a bit of imbyism in my post, but it has also downgraded for places further north and east from what was showing last night. 5 cm is not a significant snowfall, but it is better than nothing i suppose.
