No, its a bust. The front is breaking up, I imagine due to the higher pressure and ultra low humidity or something.

Can we say now, basically nothing in store for the east and north except a cold wind?

Friday night into Saturday morning is our one and final attempt at trying to get some flakes before the mild and rain takes over from Saturday evening.

Skies darkening and wind picking up now in D24. Hopefully a sign of a bit of precip on its way!

Blizzard like conditions here in Loughrea Co.Galway. Been like this pretty much since half 10. A whiteout now! Just like in 2018 we got some doing!

It's like the Liverpool mantra now at this stage isn't it? There's always next season!

It is. I'm not optimistic though, too much warmer air bleeding into that flow by the looks of it. Higher DPs and all that good stuff.

Considering how disappointing this entire winter has been I won't be too bothered if this final attempt on Saturday morning fails to deliver a covering, whatever falls will be all melted by Saturday evening anyway.

Hopefully next winter we will see proper snow at some point, of course we could still get some in March but the rest of February is looking highly unlikely at this point unless there is a major model wobble over the next week.

Stopped in Carlow too, saying that it was only specs of snow in the wind. Really thought we were going to be at the centre of it byt appears the likes of Limerick, Thurles etc got it before it broke up

Image taken 20 mins. ago. Still snowing like that near Westport and accumulating nicely. Temp. has fallen back again to a surprising -0.2ºC, wind SE gusting to around 20 kts, rel. hum now 94%

It looks like there is a heavier burst coming now with these darker clouds setting in.

Well that was our last chance here in the south east today and it was a complete bust. Glad for the people out west but I'm finished with this winter now bring on the BBQ

Took a snow break to get out of the house with one of the kids, its actually very nice snow where it has settled on the grass and paths, lovely crunch under foot and makes a mean snowball.
    Atlantic muck it is not.

Any snow we scraped up was quickly filled in during the heaviest bursts.

Amazing. Back garden (NE facing) is still covered in snow here from the other day, but nothing lying from this front at all, not even on roofs or tops of cars. Just 'snizzle' now anyway.

My Father always said when there's snow on the ground, some more has to come to take it away

So after telling the kids that we'll have loads of snow nearly every day since Sunday because that's when the warnings were in place now we have nothing in dublin!?
Do weather channels ever actually work?

Snow in the air here outside Newport too, but nothing sticking yet. Skies have turned a different shade of grey now and visibility has dropped so hopefully we'll see a few flakes stick.

Limerick Suburbs this morning, what has fallen has nearly all been thawed away. Fun while it lasted 😜
