Latest snow depths. Unimpressive away from SE England.

Starting to see more coherent narrower streams of more intense showers more in to parts of Eastern England so it would appear that is about to change.

Wind at M2 bouy has gone from E to ENE.

    2.4c in Dublin 16.

ENE down here near Arklow also

    3.1/-2.6c
    Wb 0.6c

A few snow grains at times, blink and you'd miss them
I'd prefer if the wind remains ENE or goes NE here rather than straight east

Wind here starting to pick up again, can spot the odd white spec if you squint and stare at the lamppost - Meath coast.

Never know might wake up to a dusting on the cars.

When is it deep enough to tell work you'll be working from home? Asking for a friend.

    Showers forming north of Anglesey.

You should be working from home already if you can

Ouch! I am not setting foot outside again tonight.. I can hear the wind now

Stay safe Grace. It’s bitterly cold here in Dublin 18 but love the thought of lots of snow

Literally every weather report/app I’ve looked at tells a different story! Very frustrating. All I know is it’s absolutely baltic out!

Will the streamers reach as far as east Cavan / Meath area?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,826 ✭✭✭✭Beechwoodspark

    So I’m in north Kildare

If I’m reading the charts right - no snow until Thursday at the earliest??

Most employees don't get to make that call though ;)

save the trouble and jazz it up

Bit of a shame the MÉ radar is broken, can't tell when showers could pop up...

Too much negativity here this evening. The intensity and duration of the cold around midweek has been upgraded little be little. Pressure building to northeast stalls our milder breakdown on Thursday/Friday with very cold surface air continuing to feed from the southeast into the weekend.

This time next weekend we could be awaiting the arrival of deeper cold again from the northeast, with the risk of colder upper level temps than we'll see this week. This week may be just the starters.

Wind is starting to grate on me. Temp has sat stubbornly around 1.8c for the last 90 minutes.

It’s not too much to ask for it to go below 0c with <-10c 850hPa goodness me.

Holy crap. Went for a walk with the kids and it is Baltic. When we turned to come home the faces were nearly cut off us!

Went outside for a few seconds and quickly went back inside. That wind chill is something else. Neither the BFTE nor December 2010 'felt' this cold.

Cold is one thing, I'll still have to go to work.

Its snow that's wanted and lots of it. Unlucky, maybe next year

    Anyone?

I'd be surprised if you didn't see some snow showers especially Tuesday and Wednesday

The wind chill is crazy alright. My app says it feels like -3c north county Dublin though actual temp is 3c.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 24,333 ✭✭✭✭Larbre34

    Anyone?

Possibly, but you may well see some snowfall on Tuesday, due to strong to gale force winds and some embedded trough action. Showers anyway.
