I'm reading mentions of heavy snow on Thursday, but the weather forecasts don't have it written. I have a long drive planned on the east coast Thursday so not sure what to make of it.

    From Met Eireann....

Thursday: A very cold day on Thursday as rain, sleet and snow spread northeastwards across the country, with accumulations leading to hazardous conditions.

What looks like a line of coke along the kerbs this morning. Very small snow grains blown there by the wind.

It's lovely out now. Fresh but dry. I much prefer this cold to 'wet cold'. Great weather for cycling, walking and even hiking. If this keeps up there will be people cutting their lawns this week :)
    Galway.

What are they doing in the Hyacinth House?

Graupel getting heavier with a few flakes mixed in.

Interesting that MT thinks it will be mostly mixed precipitation today. Is that possible with dewpoints so far below zero?

According to the examiner the “siberian powerhouse of going to wreak havoc on the country!” “Beast from the east 2.0” is their sensationalist headline.. But according to almost everything else, no...

They have to sell newspapers, a quickly declining form of media, sadly. We know they're wrong but most others ignorant of the facts will believe what they read.

I think met Éireann are going to ramp up Thursday but not until maybe Wednesday. They are also saying that it could stay as snow for Leinster and Ulster into Friday. This could start to get interesting

You can also already see that the Irish Sea is starting to bubble up more vs yesterday and it’s early days

Buy a small dog cage or bird cage. Cut out some of the bars on it. Put bird feeder inside it. I done that and its working a charm. Loads of small birds and no big ones or cats can get at it

This is probably as good as it will get today. A slightly better chance of something a bit more respectable tonight and tomorrow but really not much to write home about. Mid levels are just too stable for anything of any real intensity.

Smallest shower in cork city, snow pieces smaller then individual styrofoam balls and just blows around and dissapperes. Barely visible.
