Genuine question, why was this post yellow carded?

If you click the yellow card you can see the infraction reason.

    Kane starts today's game.
That's a very quick return from his ankle injury. Hope it doesn't backfire for him.

Quite funny that Ole said that this United team shouldn't even be considered contenteders
That is probably whoely down to him,
That same squad in that same position with a wolrd class manager would be considered contenteders no question

So now you rate the players? Can you name all the ones you think are at the level to win titles? I'd just like to have the info to compare against your future posts about them

Based on the defensive gaps and gaffes that are defining this season for Manchester United, I don't think a "world class manager" would have turned them into contenders.

I'm more interested to know what the other fallout might be in OGS's standing among the fans. I recall Moyes before a Liverpool game almost suggesting that United might be lucky to get a draw (I may not be 100% accurate here, but it was an interview with a lot of negativity.). The fans turned on Moyes then, saying that he didn't have the right aspirations for a Manchester United manager.
Just wondering if the fans here would class OGS as being a realist or a pessemist, and will it impact his future at the club?

Would Jose care more about himself or Harry Kane’s ankle?

Players always want too play of course but in this day and age with teams of doctors, sports scientists and physio’s everywhere I don’t think players would be left play if it was dangerous

Catching the third, the Everton equaliser and don't see where the United fans' criticism of their defence springs from. The third goal is a ball that falls to the striker...and the second is a good strike.

He'd only be concerned about Kane's ankle in as much as a missing Kane obviously weakens Spurs, consequently impacting on their chance to win games, which then impacts on his future in the job. He's the ultimate "me me me" merchant.

Possibly looking at Maguire being a couple of yards behind his teammates, playing DCL (indeed, all the Everton players) onside. You'd expect better from the captain and leader of the defence. Maybe?

West Brom almost take the lead. Really should have

    Edit: would've been offside

Like most I’m not a very big Mourinho fan.

Although I don’t think he’s the only manager that would play Kane in this situation. He’s under pressure. I think I heard earlier something like this is Spurs worst PL run in eight years. I think most managers would put themselves and keeping their jobs ahead of any players possible injury problem.

It falls to the striker but as usual the keeper is stuck to his line and slow to react. Really lacking bravery at the end and basic goalkeeping awareness for their first. I wouldn't be harsh on Maguire and Lindelof as others have been but De Gea is costing United points every other game. Even against Sheffield United, when United were pushing up in injury time and they cleared it, he was back in the box. He's not evolved his game at all and is basically a glorified Shay Given at this point only his shot stopping has also become suspect so doesn't offer much.

I think the full backs still have some links to work out too. They are both defensive for the most part but recently have been asked to get forward more it seems and when they do it leaves gaps to be exploited that aren't always being covered by the midfield and CBs so any ball over the top generally has a PL attacker one on one with a CB who isn't fast. Recipe for disaster and one that imo is completely avoidable.

How does him wanting to play our best player make him a "me me me" merchant?

Mourinho isn't going to play Kane if he's not been passed by the medical team to play. He's no more risking Kane then any manager does when picking a player returning from injury.

Thats just one of his superpowers.

Every single thing is his fault.

The first goal is poor defending regardless of De Gea even though it's a poor cross. Shaw (or anyone) has no idea Doucoure made a run to the near post had the cross picked him out - it's a decent run actually.

It would be madness to suggest that the rest are playing offside from the flick on - that is a pure chance on how the ball breaks. They all stopped. Indeed had others kept running or followed DCL's run in they might have intervened, but it is chance.

It was more his position from the initial free kick not the flick on. He is looking across the entire line and still plays himself 2 yards behind his team mates and plays 3 or 4 Everton players onside.

Liverpool favourites today presumably? Getting some players back, city still missing big players and pep doesn't have the best record v klopp as it is.

A game at anfield to blow the title race back open? Surely Liverpool will rise to the occasion as they have in he past

City are clear favourites to win. Just over Evens in the bookies. Pool as far out as 11/4

Liverpool are 11/4 to win a game at anfield????

Jesus you're right! I had a quick check on pp and see they are 5/2

Will have to have a little bet

Correct, 5/2 and 13/5 available in most bookies.

Fiil your boots! Reckon a draw at the same prices is more favourable.

Absolutely, City missing the likes of Aguero, De Bruyne etc and Klopp in the opposing dugout, at anfield, can't believe those odds!

Definitely worth a bet, can't remember the last time I've seen those odds on pool at home.

Jesus it's actually embarrassing to see how much Jose (a man they've never met) lives in some of these guys' heads rent free.

So only those that have met Jose are allowed have an opinion on him?

Also the media basically shove him down our throats on a daily basis, it's only natural that we speak about the guy.

Great result for Jose, got Kane back and played 90 minutes no problem. Only 4 points of liverpool in fourth now he doing a good job concidering the squad he had at start of season.

Good win for spurs against an improved west brom, big task to keep them up though for the specialist. I'd expect a tough game against them when we play them though

Last year in the FA cup when the Liverpool kids knocked a strong Everton team out at Anfield. Everton were favourites. Liverpool were around 2/1 that day.

Was that when ye had to split the squads or something with the simultaneous games or something? If so then yeah alright, but I was thinking more along the lines of the normal circumstances rather than something pretty unprecedented :)

No that was the other cup. This one, Klopp just chose to rotate in.

5/2 is a big price today alright.

City don't need to win. A draw for City today is sound for them as it is the last chance Liverpool can take points off of them and directly affect their points title. They can absorb them 2 points easily. I'm gonna predict that Pep goes with Dias, Stones & Laporte tucking in from LB and gives Cancelo that free role from RB. An inverse of the similar tactics employed by Pep in the 0-0 at Anfield a few years ago, but with Walker tucking in that day. Gives that extra defensive solidarity on top of the big clean sheet run they are on.

I don't like him because he behaves like a child.

Maybe he's a great lad behind the scenes but I can only judge based on what I see.

Thiago booked first. Was wondering whether it'd be him or one of the City lads booked first.

He really does seem more like a Pep/City type player.

Yea the fouling is continuous from him. Ref acting quickly here on it.

Ruben Dias is ridiculous. Just breezes past Firminho to end a Liverpool attack and charges upfield to join the City attack, then sprints back into position WHILE Liverpool are trying to counter attack after the City attack breaks down.

  • City in complete control so far
Thiago yet again very poor for Liverpool so far

Did you see his 20 yard pass out to the wing there? Went 20 yards into the stand.....

    Liverpool creating a few chances.
    Nothing so far from City.
Good play from the home side.
