    To me this is a great idea. They are eliminating the traffic that was trying to use these streets as a cross-city route.
    If you live there, or need to deliver there, now you exit onto Flood street, which is better than the Merchants Road exit beside the shopping center, as you can now use the the Merchants Road lower exit, which gives you access to Spanish Parade.

    After 10am Cross Street is pedestrianized zone. Don't see how it will be safer to access Middle Street and Augustine Street via the dual carriageway that is Merchants Road.
