Results certainly going in our favour again and either or both Utd and Chelsea dropping points. Must win tonight though

Dare I say it, we'd prefer a Utd win today , right? (puke)

Arsenal and it looks like Spurs winning. Leicester losing and looks like they've lost Barnes to a serious injury. Could be an almighty scrum for the last couple of CL spots. But we have to start winning games now.

Yep, best result for us atm.

Spurs only a point behind us again ... Same games played. Villa level with them & they've a game in hand.
We need to start wining to stay where we are in chase for top4.

God what a choice. Hopefully it'll be a 0-0 draw with several straight reds and a few twisted ankles.

All the pundits in the Echo are going with Adrian as a starter in their team selections.

I think we'll see a new keeper on the bench today. Either Kelleher is injured or a there's 2 keepers being named on the bench.

Alisson not in the squad, which is understandable.

Edit: sounds likes there is a few keepers missing. Kelleher not there and either is Pituglia the Brazil keeper signed last year.

    Unfortunately yes.

    I'd take a draw though.

With the calamatous goals we have conceded lately through goalkeeper errors, it can't get much worse today, surely, can it!! Hopefully not.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,989 ✭✭✭Potential Underachiever

Was really hoping Jota would make the bench

I'm kind of expecting one. Well, conceding anyways. Alisson VVD Gomez Matip Hendo Fabinho - our defensive spine missing.

Up to Salah to fire us to victory, again. Happened so many times this season already. I have faith in him to do it.

A win would be really big and could well be a corner turning moment, to use a cliché.

    Adrian.

I'm debating if I want to even bother with this. Adrian means we're starting -1 and yet have hardly scored a goal this year :(

Right a win is needed tonight to get right back on the mix after those results this weekend so far

What’s the deal with Davies . He must be really sh1t if he can’t even make today’s match day squad

Maybe not fully over the injury yet?

3rd choice keeper and 6th and 7th choice centre backs.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 32,198 ✭✭✭✭~Rebel~

Really just glad we're playing Sheffield Utd tonight... almost anyone else and I'd be fancying us to concede a few. But at least it's the leagues worst goalscorers, so hopefully they just get in their own way up front. Though I do have a horrible feeling this is the game where Brewster comes off the bench to score his first - relieved to see him not starting tbh!

Yeah but Van dijk is the only player that we are really missing and would make a difference!!

Hoof ball from adrian. I don't really care if it doesn't suit our system, we can't be asking him to play it around at the back.

Definitely injured or something alright. We don't know how good or bad he is for us yet, but he is definitely a much better player than Rhys Williams, who's on the bench.

Especially considering the 'back' that he's gonna be playing with! It's one thing with Van Dijk or even Hendo and Fab, but let's just keep the ball as far away from Adrian, Ozan, and Nat as possible!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,420 ✭✭✭✭Utopia Parkway

Sheff Utd are missing Egan, Basham and O'Connell at the back themselves so you'd imagine there should be goals.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,885 ✭✭✭✭yourdeadwright

We all know whats goign to happen horrific balls up by Adrian and then we huff and puff and it ends 1-0 or 2 if they catch us on the break

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,885 ✭✭✭✭yourdeadwright

Jota is fit from injury but is sick so misses out.... Cant write this stuff

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,477 ✭✭✭✭Knex*

Jota apparently getting checked for appendicitis. I'm not even joking.

No, Ramsdale is probably worse than Adrian so it means we start even, don't be surprised if Brewster scores

    Is Tsimakas injured

It all fell apart after we left Melwood. Moving to a new training ground named after an insurance company was the birth of a new curse. AXA insures your team will always need its medical cover...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,885 ✭✭✭✭yourdeadwright

So since last weekend we are missing
    Hendo
    Davis
    Allison
    Keheller
    Tsimakas

    And no return for
    Jota

I'd class that as a very good save rather than Bobby missing. Keeper got his leg up really quickly. We'd be delighted if our keeper stopped that.

I wouldn't mind but the keeper actually went to ground before he kicked it!!!

It was a good save, as in he shot on target at least
