Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi all,

just a general question - what are the issues around converting a wood burning stove that was installed in a fireplace + chimney back to the original set-up? I am moving into a house with this arrangement in a sitting room. I can't abide stoves, mush prefer the old-fashioned original look and feel of an open fire. So, can I convert back to the original???

    thank you
    M

You can, but an open fire is terribly inefficient.
    Is it a boiler stove?

As a straight forward job Yes you can and it shouldn't be too difficult.

However before going down that road see if you can find out was there any problems with the Chimney especially if the Chimney is lined.
As any repair could be expensive.
