Video calls on Satellite OK?

Where I live my only connectivity option, aside from Satellite, is 4G via Vodafone or Three. I don't have of sign to a mast to provide a wireless service from Imagine etc :(

It's so frustrating, Vodafone is generally unexciting but reliable, until the last 4 or 5 months, I barely get 1mb.

I saw Konnect have capacity on Satellite and offer a 50mb down and 5mb up connection (at least theoretically). My question is has anyone used satellite found it OK for video calls (Zoom etc)? I've not used satellite before so no idea if the latency would be an issue for online meetings

Any 2 way communication via satellite will have long delays compared to terrestrial. There'd be so much cross talk that it would get annoying...think of it as similar to having to say "over" to signal when to stop/start speaking.

An outdoor antenna to an indoor 4G router would be better than satellite...even if it only achieved 5Mbps.

Have you an outdoor antennae for your 4G? As other poster said, outdoor antennae is much better option.

Satellite is for when you can't even get 4G. Latency would be horrid.

Fair enough, thanks guys. No, I don't have an outdoor antenna for 4G, I tried one once but it didn't seem to make a difference.

If you're not in a rush Starlink has pretty decent ping times, much closer to DSL than satellite. I've seen 27ms quoted.

    Available "mid to late 2021"
