Germany will have to ban Germans from going to Spain so. Or perhaps the resorts are effectively segregated still!

Don't know if there will be too many people from the UK there tbh.

Thing is the UK have Spain on their Amber list ie essential Travel only. Even though Spain has flung its doors open with no testing requirement. That and Portugal on the greenlist. Portugal is going to get hammered I reckon.

Meanwhile in Germany they're killing each other to get vaccinated to go on holidays etc

Don't know if it has been posted but a group of 3 Indians left quarantine in a Dubbin hotel and are being sought.

To be fair it's advised essential travel only. The ministers there have made a right mess of the communication from 'you can travel if you want to' to 'definitely do not go to these places on holidays' but it is no longer strictly illegal and I think a decent number will still travel.

AKA Tony, he doesn’t bother with cabinet approval before locking down the country.
Don’t bother countering you data, you just posted bollox points to muddy the waters, take the ECDC of a week ago, we were 6.1% behind, somehow I doubt the last week has improved that situation.

Really - and wheres that from? Facebook?
Lol. Not posting "bollox points" about not supposedly being allowed to go abroad for what is deemed essential travel.

And hey not vaccination data btw
    17 May 2021
Overall, 37 percent of adults in Germany, Europe’s most populous country, have now had their first jab. More than 11 percent are fully vaccinated.

    https://www.thelocal.de/20210517/germany-to-offer-covid-jabs-to-all-adults-from-june-7th/

    18 May 2021
(Stephen Donnelly said) that more 40% of adults have received their first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine, the health minister has said.

    https://www.thejournal.ie/northern-ireland-vaccine-5440863-May2021/

Maybe take it up with them if you don't agree?

Do you not know that the hack of the HSE IT systems hasn't affected the vaccination rollout here?

So yeah things not looking too bad there are all.

Its coercive control of a vulnerable population suffering from Stockholm syndrome. The Indian variant is not escaping vaccines, yes caution is good, but Tony is just trying to put the fear of god into people, as he thinks people are stupid and can’t handle facts or science. Just like when he announced we were going to level 5 before telling an Taoiseach

Would you please point out where in the constitution it says Tony must inform the Taoiseach before he makes an announcement?

2 real questions regarding the Certs:
    1. When young children were traveling up to now with PCR negative adults, they did not have to PCR test. Will they now have to have a PCR test if the adults are traveling with a Covid-Cert that they have qualified for based on being vaccinated?
    2. (Finger in the wind type question) After the EU Covid Cert is introduced in early July, will other countries accept domestic national vaccination certs from lagard countries (eg, embossed HSE A6 piece of paper) during the subsequent 6 week grace period?

Newstalk announcing just now Green Cert could be mid August now and no guarantee either. Looks like Govt is getting fond of locking people up,

Surprise surprise………..Can anyone actually picture T Holohan in August on TV ever saying “
“Ye can now all hop on a plane to see your families or go on holidays abroad now I’m now sending a letter to the government for the recommendation “

My arse he ever will because by August it will be the loompaland variant black cloud excuse.

Getting to be a bit of a joke now. Varadkar spouting out of him only a few weeks back that he expects 80% of all adults to have been offered a vaccine. Just when other countries seem to be getting their act together our shower want to keep the exits blocked. Guaranteed they won't have a problem with tourists coming in with a digital cert.

As I understand it, both those decisions will be in the "competence" of the destination country.

The cert is really just a standardized way of providing evidence.

The hotel quarantine list has been updated. Andorra, Georgia, Kuwait, Mongolia, Nigeria and Puerto Rico have been removed.

What are the rules on travel from the US at the moment?

Currently in a house share with 2 others and one friend is planning to bring his girlfriend over from the US for 2 weeks at the end of June. Appreciate it is tough for everyone but we think its a bit much as we are both working from home and the place is crowded as it is. She has been vaccinated.

My friend thinks his girlfriend will be able to quarantine in our place.

Pending the full introduction of the EU Covid cert (with additional Tony protections on top) is there any likelihood of us creating a traffic light system similar to the UK in the interim?

??? Ireland already has a traffic light system - the EU one. The main problem is that cases all across the EU/EEA are so high that only Iceland, parts of Finland and parts of Norway are green.

There is some talk about increasing the acceptable threshold for the green classification across the EU, which would put Malta and Portugal on the green list.

Hulahoop and his crew will push the vaccine cert out until Mid-August, by that time the prices of European holidays will be expensive cos it's when a lot of Europe traditionally goes on holiday...
Plus those with school age children will want to ensure kids are ready for 1 day back at school in early september...

Though like others have said, if they don't allow travel abroad then it will increase numbers who won't be rushing to get the vaccine....

Isn't it that we have 6 weeks and that's it. If we don't have it implemented by then, we'd be shooting ourselves in the foot at EU level.

Yes I understand that to be the case. They could in theory opt out entirely but that wouldn’t go down well diplomatically

Ya, I reckon they'll just delay as long as they can and muddy the waters with the media so people don't book stuff. It'll be economic and not health reasons why they'll delay it.
