Have you a link of anything that will show they are not deducting the UK VAT before apply IFD, at the checkout stage, because I don't believe that to be the case. The issue is your second statement, that they are calculating VAT on the listed price and not the lightning deal price.

    amazon.co.uk/Timex-Expedition-TW4B04400-Chrono-Gunmetal/dp/B01CKUQG5U

    Going to an Irish address:

    Items: GBP 58.32
    Postage & Packing: GBP 0.00
Import Fees Deposit: GBP 13.41 (This is 23% of the item price above)
    Total: GBP 71.73
    Promotion Applied: -GBP 14.32
    Order Total: GBP 57.41

    Going to a UK address:

    Items: GBP 58.32
    Postage & Packing: GBP 0.00
    Total before VAT: GBP 58.32
Estimated VAT: GBP 11.67 (This is 20% of the item price)
    Total: GBP 69.99
    Promotion Applied: -GBP 25.99
    Order Total: GBP 44.00

    Or this Lego set? amazon.co.uk/LEGO-42122-Technic-Wrangler-Building/dp/B08G4LZVTW

    Going to an Irish Address:

    Order Summary
    Items: GBP 33.32
    Postage & Packing: GBP 0.00
    Import Fees Deposit: GBP 7.66
    Total: GBP 40.98
    Promotion Applied: -GBP 2.33
    Order Total: GBP 38.65

    Going to a UK Address:
    Items: £33.32
    Postage & Packing: £0.00
    Total before VAT: £33.32
    VAT: £6.67
    Total: £39.99
    Promotion Applied: -£9.00
    Payment Total:£30.99

Notice how the item price for both addresses is the same before two different IFD/VAT are added depending on the country it is being delivered to? Why would they be adding VAT to the UK address, if as you are saying, the £58.32 or the £33.32 already includes UK vat?

    Look at the Lego
    Uk promotion = 9
    UK VAT=6.67
    IE Promotion =2.33

The difference between the UK and IE promotion is the UK VAT

So the IE price includes the UK VAT

They've been refunding amounts of £0.01 and £0.02 the last few months.

Same the other day I got 0.26£ from them and was confused but must be the import fees overpayment refund

You might just make it for June delivery. Today is the last day to edit the order. Go into edit date and see if June is still an option. I'll be cancelling all of mine after this week's delivery

No they are not!!! Some are but by no means all. A couple of items in my wish list that are sale are still being calculated incorrectly.

Exchange rate guarantee fee? …. What in the name of …. is that? Pay with Revolut or curve, don’t let Amazon do the conversion

If you use a standard bank card, you either pay Pounds and let your bank charge you (they add an extra charge for buying in GBP on top of conversion rate) or amazon does pretty much the same thing except you see it all pre purchase rather than later on bank statements

    Same item on Amazon.de

This has been fixed. Total is now coming up as £174.58 (which is still about 20 euro more than buying from Amazon.de including shipping)

I saw the vat issue was still there on these tablets earlier this morning but just in the last few minutes I deleted and re-added and now the correct calculation is showing up. Might be worth giving it another try.

Thanks for that. It has come down in price for sure, but the final price is still almost double the supposed deal price.

Looks like they have fixed the issue across many products (if not all).

for example the Echo Buds, Sale price £49.99, yesterday they were coming out at £72, today they are checking out at £52.99, which would be the correct amount for Irish VAT.

I've checked out about 6 other items and all coming out at the correct price now.

So go, go, go, start shopping :)

Well, accounting only for 3% VAT increase, those should be £51.25. But this is much better than it used to and in the region of uncomfortable wallet ;)
