Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Brilliant turnover from Lawes.

Edit: wait not that good afterall...he had his hands on the deck!

Was just going to say but you edited. Not the first time England have gotten away with it

Farrell was committed, nothing in it.

Ah hear, there's not a lot in it, but he was absolutely in a position to pull out of that. He throws his weight into it well after the ball is gone. No try and a penalty to Italy imo.

We need Liam Toland in the commentary box to tell us Joy Neville is pregnant....

Think he said Ireland have a Late change with Gibson Park dropping out and Braxton Hicks going in

England are a very ordinary team at the moment.

    That was weird.

They were so focused on the height of the tackle that they seem to have ignored that it was still a late hit.

That's it. He took a player out off the ball regardless of whether it was dangerous or not. That's foul play. The Italian made a meal of it but if he didn't, it would have been picked up.

    I'm lost by the decision.

Not a lot in that but it is a late hit.

It wasn't a "hit" though. It was a push.

England have given up at least 2 scrum pens so far? Pretty poor from them.

Nothing card worthy but agree late and a penalty.
Edit Even if juat a push, it is off the ball.

When does a push become a hit? He made unnecessary contact from behind.

Genge acting the maggot. Death and taxes

  • Site Banned Posts: 12,341 ✭✭✭✭Faugheen

Genge is rattled. Lost his first scrum then was driven back. Getting mouthy already.

Lawes penalised .... an hour into it.

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,806 ✭✭✭corny

That is surely collapsing the maul.

Italy on the wind up here - gas stuff.

Ben Youngs must be the most limited 9 in the competition, and I'm including reserves in that

I'm lost here. He can stay in there but he can't collapse it that late.

English player dropped his bind there

No idea what to make of this match

Italy their own worst enemy here, England not great shakes at all.

Reckon Genge get's himself a card by 80 minutes - looks fairly wound up.

I’m normally not one to criticise referee’s but there’s been one or 2 quite weird decisions here...

Itoje does that all the time. Once he gets near the ball he brings it crashing down.

England take off the chunk and bring on the muscle

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,038 ✭✭✭TomsOnTheRoof

Adamson is a joke. Clear boring there.

That didn’t look like a straight drive from England to me. Am I the only one?

  • Site Banned Posts: 20,685 ✭✭✭✭Weepsie

I've only watched bits and pieces of this, but everytime I do, England are being allowed play the game in a way that should be resulting in penalties.

Is it because it's against Italy? Is there an inherent bias there that it they wouldn't be do doing these or need to do these things against them, and it's the Italians who will concede all the penalties?

    2 lovely steps from Robson

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 618 ✭✭✭Arduach

France were much easier on the eye v Italy.

England will pull out a big game against France, will be a very interesting game. Hope France stick to their running game.

Strange. Both players went down from it and I think they both held their head on the ground after the "push". I don't have the ability to replay live TV but in real time it looked head to head based on Farrell holding his head afterwards (that part isn't shown on replay). I might be wrong.

These penalty touch finders from Italy are awful.

    Sounds nasty

Adamson is a joke. Clear boring there.

It was the same scrum that Genge got penalised for, left foot steps out and he angles in. Clear as day.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,300 ✭✭✭✭razorblunt

    Christ that sounded horrific.
    Won’t be getting a replay I’d imagine.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 618 ✭✭✭Arduach

That sounded terrible. Wish the man a speedy recovery.

Oh dear...poor guy...scores a try minutes into his a debut and then that...urrrggghhhh

Loud scream and no replay...must be a horrific break, poor guy

Should rugby go back to an old style of rucking? Leavy and POC injured in the jackal position too.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,300 ✭✭✭✭razorblunt

ITV being a bit too harsh on the clearing out player here.

  • Subscribers Posts: 41,863 ✭✭✭✭sydthebeat

    Poor guy, that's horrible

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,796 ✭✭✭✭Pudsy33

Looks like ligaments rather than a break

I'd say more likely his knee opened up, load of ligaments gone. Very sorry for him there.

That side clear out has been much more strictly enforced

Poor guy. Was on one of the rugby podcasts last week - seemed like a good guy.

From the point of view of how quickly they have settled into their new coaching and have so many young inexperienced players I’m impressed to a degree with Italy.

They are adding some nice continuity to their game, playing through a Lot of phases at times. If any team underestimates them they could take a scalp.

This season will stand to them and hopefully they can build on it into next season while there are improvements there are some big gaps in their skills and execution, plenty of room for improvement

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,300 ✭✭✭✭razorblunt

I’d say he’s done a good bit of damage there. Ligaments take your choice.

Monye has been an absolute dose. Taking it hard because it’s an England player. Way too invested in this.

It’s ok they’re back to jokes within seconds of him going off.

    Beautiful try.

    Despite Genge boring in again.

Delighted for them. More bull**** in the scrum there. What a line off Varney.
