    Round 3 It's not me, It's you

    The B-52's - Ain't It A Shame

Have I listened to this song before? No

Never been a fan of this band so I was expecting the worst. Rock Lobster and Love Shack are just plain annoying. This however is nothing like those songs. It's a chill new wave song and I really enjoyed it.

Super positive pop song for all the single people out there! Only thing that bugs me about it is that key change when she says "anytime , day or night". It's like one singer started it and now they're all at it. Stop it!

oh gosh..I just remebered what I put on for this round... I was going to put on a slow cover version of one of my favourite songs..then did a 360 as change from my other choices and went for some fun instead  :D

Enya's "Boadicea" sample is a great start, in fact it plays all the way through the song. Piano and strings come in eventually, both great. Not crazy about the Puff Daddy verse, there's some really bad lyrics in there "Gave you extra cheese, put you in the SUV. You wanted ice so I made you freeze, made you hot like the West Indies" Dreadful stuff.

Surprised I haven't heard this because I like the other two singles off this album. It's a slower love song that I wasn't expecting, no reggae or rapping here. Songs are always better when the artist is singing the lyrics with true emotion from their own experiences and that is obvious here.

Some clever song writing here as always from Elvis Costello. He has nothing good to say about his marriage that's failing so he sings about his garden instead. This is nice but I prefer his more upbeat songs.

It was all over twitter there yesterday. Apparently he deliberately exposed Janet at that Superbowl concert I think it was.

But the way he bragged about taking Britney's virginity for how many years goes to show you what kind of man he is. Always thought Jessica Biel could do so much better.

I can handle as much schmaltz as the next man but as is the case with many of Bruno's songs, his lyrics achieve schmaltz overload. It's a nice piano ballad otherwise but it is sickly soppy.

Oh lovely, that killed her career overnight while his went from strength to strength. Slime-ball.
And I remember seeing a video on YT once where they played one of his songs backwards and it said 'Britney Spears is a whore' - no kidding!

    2- no ordinary love
    3- .......

Tanya Donelly is the step-sister of Kristin Hersh, and together they founded Throwing Muses. Donelly then left to found The Breeders with Kim Deal from The Pixies, before she left them to found Belly. Belly Split in the mid-90s after two albums and she's been solo since. That whole New England alt scene was pretty incestuous and you see a few of the same people popping up in bands all over the place.

Do my eyes deceive me? A Bob Dylan song scoring well in a walrus? You're damn right. I'm a big fan so thanks for entering this. This is the only album where he even attempts at trying to sing well so it might surprise a few people listening to it. I actually prefer the version without Johnny Cash that was released 6 years earlier but they're both great. I like that they screw up their lyrics at the 2:05 mark but keep going anyway.
