Alexina is unlucky, she would have won against last year's competitors.

Very close between Alexina and Tom but I think Tom will take it.

30 mins behind the rest of ye... well... Tom ABSOLUTELY deserved that.. he was miles ahead of the others imo...

Mike messed up a tad with his main and desert - only slightly - but he just didn't have flare.. he's fab and young... I still wanna eat his food..

Alexina.. well - who ever said she was snotty or what ever, I now agree! "its mine to lose" - huh - and tbh I thought she was a bit cocky on the last ep.. I liked her at the start cos of her romantic story about her time working in the fish market - thought she was quite wholesome.. but now I think not..

I also didn't like how she applauded so excitedly for Mike - twas like she was happy he made boo boo's..

Well done Tom.. I hope he opens a restaurant!

Mike will do well regardless.. he can really cook

Great final, really high standard- Like twill said, Alexina would have romped home if she was in last year's competition, but Tom is just something special. I wouldn't be overly keen to eat anything he cooks, but it looks and sounds impressive. :pac:

I felt bad for Mike, that he had a couple of small slip ups (the cream, ah, Mike) but was glad he still impressed the judges, and I hope he goes on to open his own place- I would definitely eat there, although I might skip his desserts and just have a 99 on the way home!

I had a big gin and tonic, even though it was a schoolnight. :D

The guys on Digital Spy were playing a drinking game- take a drink every time Mike says 'Nonna'. They will have sore heads tomorrow. :pac:

I wondered was that their logo!!! I wasn't sure!

Fair dues to him, that's quite a leap (and quite a loose description of his job, I was imagining a swanky restaurant with him in a tux at a softly lit lectern :D - which I presume was the intention :D)

Ok......the programme gave the impression as what you said...........

It sounded like he was in somewhere swanky !!!!

He will not be working there for much longer.

I was picturing him as maître d' at some swanky French restaurant, not Nandos!
He should have done a piri piri chicken breast for the final. :pac:

Don't be too sure about that! You get some in the first round who have more ambition than knowledge, resulting in the infamous cod omelette incident of about 3 years ago.

era i have watched it from time to time and didn't think much of it - just not for me.. love the one with regular folk :)

Coming back to the competition in question, was delighted Madeeha was knocked out. Totally overbearing and over the top. Maybe i'm just cynical when i see the tears come whenever the camera is present.
