Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Great defensive effort in this half...took everything Embra threw at them and soaked it all up..well done

Coombes a stand out. Individual errors, as always killing us

He fell off one or two tackles in the first. Still a bit of development to do. What a season he's having!

JOD was my MOTM. Such a consistent performer at this level.

All the backrow did well tbf, Cloete had some great interventions in defence. Casey showed up great aswell.

This lad must be rightly buckled - this is a long stoppage

Great to see two teams play to the end trying to score a try with running rugby.

Love the swagger to try and run it back.
Good win in atrocious conditions over here, so windy the shed in my garden has fallen over .... I don’t even have a shed!

Lots of great performances Casey, JOD, Farrell, Coombes and Daly.
Rowntree will be buying the beers tonight.

I was really enjoying the end of that match but Eirs website crashed and then wouldn’t let me back in again

Hope the Edinburgh players injury isn’t too bad

Conway apparently injured at end of game? Didn't notice it but hope it's nothing bad. He looked pretty sharp after a lengthy period with no games

When he made that great cut through the middle in extra time, when he was tackled it looked like he landed heavily or something on the ground. When he got up he was unable to stand up straight, I hope it was just a bump and nothing worse.

Yeah he was slow to get up after taking contact at the end of his break. Didn't look at all comfortable even after getting back to his feet.

    Looked like a rib injury?

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,822 ✭✭✭Jump_In_Jack

Just watched it back and when he made that great break at the very end he was swung hard down on his hip in the tackle and he was in a lot of pain and couldn’t stand up straight afterwards.
He also couldn’t walk off the pitch with all the other players after the whistle, he was hobbling slowly across the pitch on his own after everyone else had walked off.
Hope it wasn’t a serious knock.

Aww crap, hope it's just a painful knock and not something more serious.

I really want to see how his new hair style develops over the rest of the season

From the 80 mins I managed to see, I thought Casey and JJ played really well together, JJ is a dynamic 10 on his day and Casey is a little general, constantly keeping the forwards honest. I think when Healy and McCarthy came on we lost a bit of direction because I don't think Healy communicates enough verbally to the team to tell them what he needs them to do, and I don't think Nick does either.

When it comes to the end of the game and there are tired players running out of steam, we need someone yelling at player to get into position. It's the difference between a great team, and a team full of great players

When the team play together long enough it can be communicated non verbally a lot of the time, but for new players coming in and out of the setup, a commanding and vocal leader makes a big difference

This is a lot of what CJ brings to the team too, he drives his team to get up off the ground and get back into play, he encourages and demands hard work from his team mates

Much better performance than the Benetton game last time out

I've been critical of him in the past but I thought Cloete went well last night

Scrum went a bit wayward when the subs came on

Coombes also went off in the 80th minute with Cloete coming back on. Hopefully nothing serious

Haley seemed to step into first receiver quite a bit once JJ went off.

2 wins from the last 4 games should see us top the group

I only got to see the game after I knew the result so may have a slightly different view of things than if I watched it live but I thought Munster were excellent on Saturday night when you take into account the tough weather conditions. I know it was Edinburgh that we were playing but I was very happy with our performance. Our scrum & lineout were dominant which gave us some comfort in defence and attack. Casey had a good night but I thought our halfbacks didn't impose themselves in the game so Farrell and DeAllande were used more in defence or as battering rams but you also could see some nice moves throughout the game. The pack won the game for us, their work in attack and defence was just fantastic. I thought Daly had a good game, Haley too bar an error or two.

I was delighed with our defence in the final few minutes, coughing up a score was irrelevant to us but we defended like a score would have cost us the game and then the attitude to run the ball when we turned it over, we almost deserved the BP win.

Only downside was Conway seemed to pick up a knock late in the game, hope he's ok.

What about Billy Holland, he's been fantastic for Munster, playing in his 240 game for us and you'd think he was only a young fellow the way he puts himself about the field. He's such a good reader of the game, nearly always in the right place at the right time.

Think the only reason a back row could come back on for another injured back row would be HIA

I must watch this back, but I thought once or twice during this game that Edinburgh killed the ball right as penalty advantage was being called, thus preventing Munster getting to play their advantage. It's pretty cynical, I thought there was a chance the ref could give a yellow for it if it happened again.

Blood replacement can be a returning player too, hence bloodgate

Yep, completely forgot about blood subs.
